Shoplog #37

Dit weekend ging ik met mijn ouders de kerstmarkt in Keulen bezoeken. Wacht.... laat me mezelf corrigeren. Elk jaar gebruik ik de kerstmarkten als excuus om mijn ouders te overtuigen richting Duitsland te rijden. In realiteit spendeer ik maximum een halfuur tussen de kraampjes en de rest van de dag ga ik lekker eten en shoppen in de gewone winkels. Voor diegene die nog nooit naar Keulen geweest zijn: deze stad biedt een ruim aanbod van modeketens tot luxewinkels. Hieronder zien  jullie wat ik gekocht heb.

This weekend I convinced my parents to go to the Christmas market in Cologne. Wait... let me correct myself. Each year I use the Christmas markets as an excuse to push my parents to go to Germany. In reality I only spend about half an hour between the stands and the rest of the day I enjoyed some delicious food and shopping at the regular stores. For those who've never been to Cologne: the city offers a wide range of fashion chain stores to very luxurious brands. Below you can discover the items I bought. 

Shirt H&M

Ik was al lang op zoek naar het perfecte coltruitje en een echte fashionista kan toch nooit weerstaan aan streepjes. 

I have been looking for the perfect turtle neck shirt like forever and a real  fashionista can never resist some stripes. 

Michael Kors handbag

Keulen heeft een Michael Kors flagship store en onze Duitse buren bieden ook al eerder solden aan. Dit mooie exemplaar kocht ik dan ook met 50% korting. Als zelfs mijn papa zegt: "Koop deze handtas maar meteen want anders is hij weg.", dan weet je dat het goed zit. 

Cologne has a Michael Kors flagship store and our German neighbours already offer some sale reductions. This gorgeous bag came with a 50% reduction. When my dad says: " Buy this bag right away because otherwise it might be gone", you know it's a keeper.

Goodmorning lovies! The weekend is almost there and I'm so excited about it! Another thing I'm really excited about is the things I bought the past month. It's been long since my last shoplog because I bought some things here and there, it felt pointless to share just one item every time. Let me know whether you like my new goodies!!

NL: Goedemorgen lovies! Het weekend is bijna daar en ik ben echt super blij! Iets anders waar ik erg blij mee ben, zijn de nieuwe spullen die ik me de afgelopen maand aangeschaft heb. Het is alweer een tijdje geleden sinds mijn laatste shoplog maar omdat ik hier en daar wat dingetjes kocht, vond ik het nutteloos om daar telkens apart een artikel over te schrijven. Laat me in de comments hieronder maar weten of je de items mooi vind!

I bought this Ted Baker dress at Goldie, I wore this to the MyGuess event. 

NL: I kocht dit Ted Baker jurkje bij Goldie. Ik droeg het tijdens het MyGuess event.

Right afterwards I was in Cologne for a business trip. In the local Kiko store I purchased the nail polish above and the primer below. I can't wait to review them both for you.

NL: Meteen daarna ging ik naar Keulen voor een werkreis. In de lokale Kiko winkel kocht ik de nagellak hierboven en de primer hieronder. Ik kijk er al naar uit om over beide producten een artikel te schrijven. 

This necklace is from H&M, and it's a really good lookalike from Dolce & Gabbana in my opinion. My mom got me the earrings like ages ago and I regretted not buying the matching necklace. Luckily I still managed to get my hands on it while shopping in Barcelona.

NL: Deze ketting is van H&M, en echt een goede lookalike van Dolce & Gabbana. Mijn mama kocht me de oorbellen al een hele tijd geleden en tot nu toe had ik echt spijt dat ik de bijpassende ketting niet gekocht had. Gelukkig vond ik de ketting nog tijdens mijn citytrip in Barcelona. 

Having Blair Waldorf as role model, resulted in my being obsessed with capes. I finally found my match at Mango. The picture doesn't do this lovely piece justice but I hope I can soon do an outfit shoot with it.

NL: Vermits Blair Waldorf mijn rolmodel is, heb ik dus ook een echte obsessie met capes. En eindelijk vond ik een cape die ik echt mooi vind bij Mango. De foto brengt de cape niet echt tot zijn recht maar ik hoop dat ik hem snel kan tonen via een outfit shoot.

NL: Mijn nieuwe H&M hoed kon je al bewonderen in de outfit post van gisteren. 

My new crown jewel is this amazing Michael Kors clutch. You really feel the (fake) Leopard fur, it's so lovely to touch and a real eye catcher in every outfit.

NL: Mijn nieuwe kroonjuweel is deze geweldige Michael Kors clutch. Je voelt echt de (neppe) luipaard huid en het voelt echt zalig om aan deze clutch te komen; Een nieuwe blikvanger voor elke outfit.

You see these earrings everywhere. The originals are from Dior but unfortunately a bit too expensive for my wallet. Therefor I bought these amazing lookalikes on Whatthefashion. 

NL: Je ziet deze oorbellen overal. De originelen zijn van Dior maar jammer genoeg zijn deze een beetje te duur voor mij. Daarom kocht ik deze geweldige lookalikes via Whatthefashion.

PERSONAL: Business trip Cologne

In today's post I'm getting a bit personal. I'm an administrative employee at a photo finishing company, we develop your photo books, wall decoration,... To make our company better known outside of Belgium, we decided to present our products at Photokina, the world's biggest photo fair. Representing my company at a fair was a totally new experience and it was very instructive. I can tell you one thing; standing 8h a day and talking all the time is super exhausting. Due to that my colleague and I didn't really do a lot after hours. One day we had one hour time to shop, of course I visited Kiko again. Cologne also has a Primark, a Louis Vuitton, a Hermès and several H&M stores. On the other hand I experienced a lot of food in Cologne, we dined out every evening so below I share with you some great restaurants to eat at when you are in Cologne.

NL: Het artikel van vandaag is een beetje meer persoonlijk. Ik ben een administratief medewerker bij een foto finishing bedrijf, dus we maken fotoboeken, muurdecoratie,... Om onze naam meer bekendheid te geven in het buitenland, besloten we om onze producten voor te stellen op Photokina, de wereld's grootste fotobeurs. Het bedrijf, waar ik voor werk, op een beurs vertegenwoordigen, was een totaal nieuwe ervaring en erg leerrijk. Ik kan één ding wel zeggen; 8u rechtstaan en constant moeten praten, is super vermoeiend. Daardoor hebben mijn collega en ik 's avonds niet meer veel gedaan. Eén dag hebben we wel een uurtje kunnen vrijmaken om te shoppen en ben ik natuurlijk bij Kiko langs geweest. Keulen heeft verder ook nog een Primark, een Louis Vuitton, een Hermès en verschillende H&M winkels. Daartegenover staat dat we wel elke dag zijn gaan uit eten in Keulen dus deze ervaringen kan ik wel met jullie delen.

L'osteria Hürth

L'Osteria is a chain of Italian restaurants. The vibe here is really relaxed and the employees are really helpful. My tip at this restaurant is the pizzas. They are huge and the price is reasonable.

NL: L'Osteria is een keten van Italiaanse restaurants. De sfeer is er erg relaxed en de werknemers zijn zeer behulpzaam. Mijn tip voor dit restaurant is zeker de pizza. Deze zijn enorm groot en redelijk van prijs. 

Taco Loco

In Belgium you don't find many Mexican restaurants which I really regret because I love spicy food. So when I found out there was a Mexican restaurant just 2 km from the place I was sleeping at, I was over the moon. The food was great, the service as well. The restaurant and decoration were a bit outdated.

NL: In België vind je niet veel Mexicaanse restaurants, dit is erg jammer want ik hou van pikant eten. Dus je kan je wel voorstellen dat ik echt enthousiast was, toen ik ontdekte dat er een Mexicaans restaurant was op 2 km van onze slaapplaats. Het eten was echt overheerlijk en de service was ook top. Het restaurant en het decor waren wel een beetje ouderwets.

Cafe Del Sol

This restaurant really had it all; great food, good music in the background, a cosy atmosphere and a very impressive decor. The food varied from American to Italian and French. There was a huge cocktail and smoothies menu as well.

NL: Dit restaurant had echt alles; heerlijk eten, goede muziek op de achtergrond, een gezellige sfeer en een indrukwekkend decor. Er was heel veel keuze: van Amerikaans tot Italiaans en Frans. Er was ook een grote cocktail en smoothie kaart.
