FASHION: Farfetch - Perfect party look for the holiday season

ENG: Holiday season is around the corner and that means my search for the perfect party look has started. Once the clock strikes midnight on 31st December I want to be the most fashionable chick on the dance floor. This year I teamed up with Farfetch to put together my favourite outfit. 

I always connect to holiday season to colours such as red, gold and black. These colours are chic and classy in my opinion. I also like to stand out from the crowd; so while other girls opt for a dress, I would rather go for a fancy top and some gorgeous boots.

TREND: The printed dress

One trend that really has captured my eye and heart is the printed dress. You can't flip through a lookbook or webshop without encountering a least one. It's the perfect piece to make the transition from winter to spring. Before buying one, I wanted to discover different designs. Below you can see some of my favourites.

NL: Als er één trend is die me opgevallen is en mijn hart veroverd heeft, is het wel de bedrukte jurk. Je kunt niet door een lookbook bladeren of op een webshop surfen zonder er tenminste eentje tegen te komen. Het is het perfecte kledingstuk om de overgang te maken van winter naar lente. Alvorens een bedrukte jurk te kopen, wou ik eerst wat verschillende prints ontdekken. Hieronder zien jullie enkele van mijn favorieten.

FASHION: Valentino FW2015

Being one of the last shows of fashion month can be though job. Bloggers, journalists and models are getting tired and yes, even bored. Although Valentino is a brand to which not many others can compare themselves to, the designers took it upon them to shake the fashion world awake with a funny surprise. The world's most famous fictional models, from the movie Zoolander, took the stage. Afterwards the real models took the stage again and showed an amazing finale filled with breath-taking looks.

NL: Een van de laatste shows op de agenda zijn tijdens modemaand is zeker geen makkelijke taak. Bloggers, journalisten en modellen worden moe en ja, zelfs verveeld. Ook al is Valentino een merk waarmee vele anderen zich niet kunnen meten, toch kozen de designers ervoor om een extra verrassing toe te voegen aan de show en zo de modewereld wakker te schudden. 's Werelds meest beroemde fictionele modellen, van de film Zoolander, wandelden ook eventjes over de catwalk. Daarna kwamen de echte modellen weer te voor schijn en toonden ze een geweldige finale met adembenemende looks.

Birthday wishlist

At the end of this month I won't only be celebrating the first birthday of my blog but also my 25th birthday. Every now and then I share some of the items I really would like to have on this blog but some items are more special than others. Every girl of course images herself getting all the things on her wishlist for her birthday and I'm no exception.

While deep down inside I know I'm very blessed to have all my family members in excellent health, to have a steady job and to have great friends, I still have to admit I'm a very material person. Not one  day goes by without me spotting a new musthave in a magazine or online. While I asked my friends and family to give me money because I'm finally saving for a decent camera, I still compiled the wishlist below. What do you crave for your birthday?

NL: Eind deze maand zal ik niet alleen het eenjarig bestaan van mijn blog vieren maar ook mijn 25e verjaardag. Af en toe deel ik hier wel eens items die ik graag zou willen hebben, sommige al eens wat specialer (lees duurder) dan anderen. Elk meisje droomt er natuurlijk van om op haar verjaardag alles te krijgen wat haar hartje verlangd en ik ben geen uitzondering. 

Diep vanbinnen besef ik wel dat ik gezegend ben want mijn familie verkeerd in uitstekende gezondheid, ik heb een vaste job en geweldige vrienden. Maar toch moet ik toegeven dat ik redelijk materialistisch ben. Er gaat geen dag voorbij zonder dat ik weer een nieuwe musthave spot in een tijdschrift of online. Ook al heb ik mijn vrienden gevraagd om mij geld cadeau te doen vermits ik aan het sparen ben voor een degelijke camera, toch stelde ik onderstaande wishlist samen. Wat wens jij voor je verjaardag?

A spring wedding

Spring season means wedding season. As a grown-up I haven't been invited to a wedding so far. I can't wait for one of my friends to get married just to experience a wedding for once. It would be a good excuse to buy an over the top dress as well.

Off course that also raises the question: "What should one wear to a wedding?". This depends which your role is in this wedding; are you the bride, a bridesmaid or a normal guest. Today I'll give you some inspiration on how to dress for a wedding party.

The bride

I'm not at a point in my life where I'm considering marriage seriously. But which girl doesn't dream about a wedding gown every now and then. In this dream I'm wearing a Valentino gown and lots of golden (no, not silver) accessories and off course a headband or tiara.

The bridesmaid

If you've got the honor to be a bridesmaid this season, you should definitely choose a pastel dress. Although the bride will probably decide which colour you will wear, pink seems like the perfect choice.

Guest of the wedding

As a guest of the wedding you can basically wear anything as long as it's appropriate for the dress code and preferably not white. Some people might not agree with me, but I really think to only one who's allowed to wear white on a wedding day is the bride. If you're just a normal guest of the wedding, you can buy a dress which will still be wearable after the wedding party.

Last saturday I went shopping in Antwerp and bought a Kenzo shirt at Hopland 14. Check out my article about statement shirts.

Grammy Awards 2014

While some people might have been watching the Grammy Awards to see who would win the most awards (PS: it's Daft Punk), some might watch it for the memorable performances (Jay-Z & Beyonce), I watch it for the outfits. Most sites do a best and worst outfit post but I hate bashing people so most of the time I only show the outfits I liked. Which was your favourite look of the evening?
