My favourite beauty reviews from 2014

Happy New Year to all of you! I first want to take the opportunity to wish you all the best for 2015, may all your dreams come true! I also hope that you will continue to follow my blog and help me grow so I can become the best blogger I can be. 

Yesterday I showed you my favourite outfits from 2014. Another thing I love writting about are beauty products so today I'll be showing you my 10 favourite products from 2014. Do you use any of them? Which is your favorite?

1) Dior Hydra Life Creme Protection SPF15

Dior Hydra Life is in my life for so many years now simply because it's the best day creamm.

2) Celluli Laser Size Code from Biotherm

Don't we all hate cellulites? I discovered this miracle worker.

3) Estee Lauder - Idealist pore minimazing skin 

If I hate anything more than cellulites, then that would probably be my pores. Therefor I often use the Estée Lauder Idealist.

4)  Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture lipstick nr 7 Le Fuchsia

The color of this lipstick is pretty amazing and I feel kind of special everytime I wear it.

5)  Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 lumières eye shadow

Another great Yves Saint Laurent product I purchased this year. The colors of this palette are not very conventional so I don't wear it that often. The quality of this eye shadow is great nontheless. 

6) Chanel Rouge Allure 99 Pirate lipstick

A girl never has enough red lipsticks in this dark red one from Chanel is just perfect.

7)  Kiko Perfect Base Corrector

No make-up look is complete without a good primer. I'm pretty hooked on this one from Kiko.

8) Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

Best perfume discovery from 2014.

9) Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess powder

I love a good tan unfortunately I need some help during these harsh winter timers. The Bronze Goddess powder from Estée Lauder is a top product.

10)  Diorific Golden Shock Top Coat - Limited edition Christmas

The perfect  toap coat to bring the festivities to your nails. 

Celebrating one year of Dressing in Labels

While today might be my 25th birthday, tomorrow I will be celebrating something else: the first anniversary of my blog Dressing in Labels. I remember I had the idea of starting the blog for a while but I let doubt and anxiety hold me back. I think the champagne I was sipping for my birthday, gave me the final push to put the blog online. And what a year it has been. Sometimes it was hard to stay inspired and post regularly but the fun events and meeting so many new people was the reward for the endless nights of writing. Today I'm going to show you my most read articles from the first year of Dressing in Labels. What kind of articles would you look to read in the future?

NL: Vandaag mag dan wel mijn 25e verjaardag zijn, morgen heb ik nog iets anders te vieren: de eerste verjaardag van mijn blog Dressing in Labels. Ik had al een tijdje het idee om een blog te starten maar liet me steeds tegen houden door twijfel en angst. Ik denk dat de champagne, die ik dronk op mijn verjaardag, me het laatste duwtje in de rug heeft gegeven om een blog te beginnen. En wat een jaar is het geweest. Soms was het zwaar om geïnspireerd te blijven en regelmatig te posten maar de fijne evenementen en het ontmoeten van zoveel nieuwe mensen was een beloning voor de eindeloze avonden van schrijven. 9) Event: Fashionata Sofie Valkiers' Ki6? Who are you? Cocktail party

What did I just say about fun events and meeting great people? This event was the first one I attended and Sofie Valkiers is one of the most inspirational bloggers out there. Read my experience of that night here.

6) Hotspot: Kiwi Maastricht

Reviewing one of my all-time favorite restaurants Kiwi was so much fun. What can I say? The food is amazing and what else I like about this restaurant, you'll have to find out here.

NL: Het reviewen van één van mijn favoriete restaurants Kiwi was echt zo geweldig. Wat kan ik zeggen? Het eten was er heerlijk en wat ik nog geweldig vond aan deze plaats, moet je hier ontdekken.

5) Beauty review: Estee Lauder - Idealist Pore Minimazing Skin

Who likes huge pores? Nobody and this is obviously a problem that a lot of you are bothered by. My review got read a lot of times but if you need a refresher don't hesitate to click here.

NL: Wie houdt er nu van grote poriën? Niemand en dit is duidelijk een probleem waren vele onder jullie last van hebben. Mijn review werd immens veel gelezen, maar als je nog even een opfrissertje nodig hebt, twijfel dan zeker niet om hier te klikken.

4) Event: Denvin SS 14 Fashion Show

Our neighbors for The Netherlands know how to throw a fashion show. This event was one of the best I ever went to. The clothes, the vibe, the people,... everything was utterly amazing! Read my report here.

NL: Onze buren uit Nederland weten hoe een modeshow te organiseren. Dit evenement was één van de beste waar ik al naartoe ben geweest. De kleren, de vibe, de mensen,... alles was absoluut geweldig! Lees mijn verslag hier. 

3) Inspiration: Blair Waldorf

Gossip Girl was without a doubt the Sex and the city of my generation. You were either team Blair or team Serena. Up until this day the character of Blair Waldorf is iconized and if someone made headbands and capes trendy, it's without a doubt her. If you want some real Blair Waldorf inspiration, click here.

NL: Gossip Girl was zonder twijfel het Sex and the City van mijn generatie. Je was ofwel team Blair ofwel team Serena. Tot op vandaag is het personage van Blair Waldorf een echt icoon en als één iemand de hoofdband en de cape modieus heeft gemaakt, dan is zij het wel. 2) Review: Zalando

We all love Zalando and I really noticed that from the numerous of times this article has been read. I got the chance to order something on the Zalando website and you can read my experience here.

NL: We houden allemaal van Zalando en dat merkte ik echt aan het hoge aantal keer dat dit artikel gelezen werd. Ik had de kans om iets te bestellen op de Zalando website en je kunt mijn ervaring hier lezen.

1) Beauty review: Celluli Lazer Size Code Biotherm

Unfortunately we can all get cellulitis and most people actually are bothered by it. Usually it's genetic specific but too much or not enough sports can cause cellulitis as well among other things. Luckily I found this product by Biotherm which notably nhances the problem. Read the full review here.

NL: Jammer genoeg kunnen we allemaal cellulitis krijgen en zo goed als iedereen heeft er wel wat last van. Meestal is het genetisch bepaald maar bijvoorbeeld te veel of te weinig sport kan ook één van de oorzaken zijn. Gelukkig vond ik dit product van Biotherm, het verbetert het probleem zichtbaar. REVIEW: Celluli Laser Size Code from Biotherm

As promised I will be reviewing a skincare or beauty product each week. This week it's time for one my favourite products; the Celluli Laser Size Code from Biotherm. This product targets to improve the fat-prone areas from your body.

What it promises to do:

"Designed to specifically target the loss of firmness associated with the mid-section. Skin is left looking smoother and feeling firmer. "

Ingredients:

Caffeine, pomegranate seed oil, lotus extract, green coffee extract, a Yerba Mate extract. Gingko Biloba

Application:

"Spread the product over your stomach, waist and hips, making clockwise circles following the direction of transit."

My own experience:

My problem areas are my stomach and thighs. I try to use this product all year round but especially right before the summer season kicks in. The gel is orange like and feels a bit cold when you apply it to your skin. I don't notice a specific or annoying scent. The gel dries up quite quickly but a sticky feeling remains. Therefore I advise you to use this gel right before you get to bed and when you've got your pajamas on.

The manuall advises you to apply it twice a day. I only do it once because often I don't have more time plus this product is quite expensive (€ 32,00/150ml). If you really want to invest time, the manual includes some massages which you can use to apply the Celluli Laser Size Code.

The package is bright blue/green with a silver husk. This gives it a very modern look. Somehow this improves the credibility from the product.

Now the mother of all questions: Does this product help? Yes after about a week I started to notice a slimming effect on my stomach. My mother uses this product as well and she agrees about the effect. My stomach looks tighter and less "bubbly". I'm really a fan of this product and will keep on using it.
