Allicht herkennen jullie de volgende situatie. Mijn mama wou maar al te graag gebruik maken van mijn vrije dag om te gaan shoppen en ik ging mee om haar een plezier te doen. Eigenlijk had ik zelf niets nodig en wou ik een beetje mijn spaarrekening bij spekken. Maar dan... spot je iets in elke winkel die je binnen gaat. Bij dezen vond ik dat een shoplog nog wel eens op zijn plaats was. Opgepast: de situatie liep al snel uit de hand! ;-)

BEAUTY: ProNails nail polish 385 Whatta Watermelon

Een tijdje geleden vertelde ik jullie hier al over de L.A. Juice Bar collectie van ProNails. Deze collectie voor de zomer is gevuld met vrolijke kleurtjes. Tijdens de persdagen kreeg ik Whatta Watermelon mee naar huis, een zacht roze kleurtje.

Ik reviewde al eerder ProNails nagellak, je kunt de volledige blogpost hier nog eens nalezen maar kort samengevat:

Mijn ervaring:

Laten we beginnen met het borsteltje: dit is echt zo handig. Het borsteltje neemt niet te veel of te weinig nagellak op en laat het toe om de nagellak evenredig te verspreiden. Daar metallic kleuren soms kunnen "strepen" tijdens het drogen, raad ik wel aan om twee laagjes aan te brengen. Ik heb de nagellak nu 4 dagen op en deze is nog niet afgebladerd! Dit heb ik nog nooit eerder gehad met een andere nagellak en hier ben ik dus razend positief over! Verder is deze nagellak ook absoluut niet duur, zeker als je daarbij nog eens de hoge kwaliteit telt.

A while ago I already wrote here about the L.A. Juice Bar collection of ProNails. This summer collection is filled with bright and happy colours. During the press days I got to take home Whatta Watermelon, a soft pink shade.

My experience:

Let's start with the brush: it's super handy. The brush doesn't take too much or too less nail polish and so spreading the nail polish evenly on your nail is super easy. Because metallic nail polishes quickly tend to get "stripy" while drying, I strongly advise to put on two layers. I did my nails four days ago and it hasn't chipped yet! This is something I've never experience before with a nail polish so that's a big plus for Pronails! On top of everything this nail polish isn't expensive at all, definitely if you take into account the high quality.

BEAUTY: Dior nail polish - nr 650 Pivoine - limited edition spring 2016

 

Description

De Dior lente 2016 collectie is er weer eentje om duimen en vingers mee af te likken. Liefst zou ik natuurlijk meteen elk product aanschaffen maar het nagellak kleurtje Pivoine mag de spits afbijten. Lees hieronder mijn mening over deze glinsterende en felle koraal kleur.

The Dior spring 2016 collection is once again on fire. I'd like to buy each product right away but the nail polish Pivoine made it first into my shopping basket. Read below my opinion about the shimmering and bright coral colour. 

Packaging:

Weer een nieuw Dior product bij in de kast. En waarom zou Dior een wel een winnende formule veranderen. Het klassieke vierkante en doorzichtige flesje blijft behouden, alsook de zilveren dop. Het flesje zit in een donkerblauwe kartonnen doosje. Op het flesje en doosje staan de naam en nummer duidelijk zichtbaar geprint.

Another new Dior product in my closet. And I can't blame Dior for not changing a winning formula. The classic square bottle is maintained, as is the silver cap. The bottle is wrapped in a dark blue carton box. The name and number is visibly printed onto both the bottle and box.

My experience

Ik heb al zoveel Dior nagellak gereviewed voor de blog en mijn conclusie blijft steeds hetzelfde; deze nagellak is het beste merk op de markt. De nagellak laat zich makkelijk en evenredig verspreiden over de nagel dankzij de perfecte formule.

Omdat de formule van de meeste Dior nagellak zo dik is, is één laagje meestal genoeg. Zoals iedereen weet, is dekking bij een glinsterende formule net ietsjes moeilijker. Maar na twee dunne laagjes heb je ook hier het perfecte resultaat.

Het aanbrengen voorloopt super makkelijk dankzij het brede borsteltje en de snel drogende formule. Haast je dus naar jouw lokale parfumerie want deze collectie zal zonder twijfel weer verkopen als zoete broodjes!

I have already reviewed so many Dior nail polishes on this blog and my conclusion remains the same: this nail polish is the best brand on the market. The nail polish spreads easily and proportionally thanks to the perfect formula.

Because the formula of most Dior nail polishes is quite thick, one layer is sufficient for great coverage. But like you probably know, coverage is quite complicated with shimmering nail polishes. But after two layers the coverage was perfect as well.

Applying the nail polish is super easy thanks to the wide brush and the fast-drying formula. So hurry to your local perfumery to get your hands on this collection.

BEAUTY: Kiko Power Pro Nail Lacquer nr. Cherry

Het flesje heeft een afgeronde rechthoekige dop. Als je deze eraf haalt, zit daaronder een dop met een makkelijker houvast. Beide doppen heeft zijn gegraveerd met het Kiko logo. Ik vind dit nieuwe en moderne design echt super mooi.


The bottle has a rounded square lid which reveals the easy grip handle underneath. The lids also have the Kiko logo on them. I love these new and modern design. 

My experience

Deze nagellak maakt deel uit van de gloednieuwe Power Pro Nail lacquer van Kiko en deze update merk je aan twee dingen. Het borsteltje is nu vlakker geworden en daardoor makkelijker in gebruik. De formule is dekt super en is goed gepigmenteerd. Op deze foto's lijkt de nagellak lichter van tint dan hij daadwerkelijk is. De kleur heet Cherry en hij is dan ook bordeaux rood op mijn nagels.  Kiko belooft dat de nagellak 7 dagen goed blijft maar bij was dat maar twee dagen.

Ik vind deze nieuwe Pro Nail Lacquer veel beter als het standaard gamma omwille van het dikkere borsteltje en de verbetering in formule. Deze nagellak is beschikbaar op de website aan € 4,90/flesje.

This nail polish is from the new Power Pro Nail Lacquer range by Kiko and this update is visible in two things. The brush is much flatter now and therefore easier to use. The formula has changed as well and spreads very well and is so well pigmented. On these pictures the nail polish looks a few shades lighter than it really is. The colour's name is Cherry and it really is some kind of bordeaux red. Kiko promises that this nail polish won't chip up until 7 days but unfortunately it started chipping after two days. 

I like the new Pro Nail Lacquer range more than the normal range from Kiko because of the renewed brush and the improved formula. This nail polish is available on the website for € 4,99/bottle. 

BEAUTY: Kiko 3 in 1 mat effect nail polish

Description:

Het standaard Kiko flesje: doorzichtig, vierkant en een zilveren dop. Het flesje heeft niet meteen een luxueuze uitstraling maar is wel gewoon degelijk. Het etiket vermeld alle informatie over de inhoud.

The usual Kiko bottle: see-through, square and a silver top. The bottle doesn't strike you as luxurious but it's ok. The label mentions all the information about the content.

My experience:

Het borsteltje is redelijk vlak en perfect van breedte. Daardoor is het heel makkelijk om de nagellak aan te brengen. Het matte effect is haast onmiddellijk zichtbaar. Ik heb ook het gevoel dat deze top coat er voor zorgt dat de nagellak sneller droogt wat natuurlijk een groot pluspunt is. Dankzij deze top coat zal de nagellak niet meteen begin af te bladeren, meestal bleef hij goed tot 3 dagen lang.

Normaal kost deze top coat € 4,90 maar nu is er een korting op de website dus ga zeker eens een kijkje nemen.

The brush is relatively flat and has the perfect width. Therefore it's very easy to apply the nail polish. The mat affect is almost immediately visible. I also have the impression that the nail polish dries faster because of this top coat, which is a big plus point. Thanks to this top coat the nail polish won't chip up to three days.

Normally the Kiko 3 in 1 mat effect top coat comes at € 4,90 but there's a promotion on the website momentarily.

BEAUTY: Givenchy Le Vernis nr 22 Black satin

Description

De Givenchy nagellak zit verpakt in een doorzichtig en rechthoekig flesje. De dop is erg chic, deze is zilver met vanboven op het Givenchy logo in het zwart.

The Givenchy nail polish is wrapped in a see-through and rectangle bottle. The cap is very chic, it's silver with on top the Givenchy logo in black. 

My experience:

Zwart is niet de makkelijkste kleur om aan te brengen en Black satin is daar niet bepaald een uitzondering op. Maar de Givenchy nagellak is beter dan de meesten andere zwarte nagellak die ik al in het verleden heb geprobeerd. Twee lagen heb je zeker nodig en ook heel veel concentratie. Als je enkele wattenstaafjes en nagellak remover bij de hand houdt, komt het wel goed.

Black is not the easiest colour to apply and Black satin is no exception. Although it's better than some other black nail polishes I used in  the past. Two layers are definitely needed, as is a lot of concentration. If you keep some cotton-wool and nail polish remover nearby, you should be alright.

BEAUTY: Dior Pandore #754 Vernis Gel Shine Nail Lacquer

Description

Discover the new-generation Dior Vernis and its ingenious formula that plays up the gel effect.

Packaging

ENG: The packaging is the classis see-through bottle. There's a lovely silver cap to close the bottle, the "CD" logo is engraved in it.

NL: De verpakking is het klassieke, doorzichtige flesje. Het flesje is afgesloten met een prachtige, zilveren dop, het logo "CD" zit erin gegraveerd.

My experience

Regular readers of my blog know that Dior is by far my favourite beauty brands. What I absolutely love about Dior are there nail polishes. So far I only had positive experiences with Dior nail polishes and Pandore didn't change that. One layer of nail polish is enough for a great coverage and with a top coat (Kiko e.g.) it doesn't chip for days. The pigmentation is amazing as well. I would describe Pandore as a red from the mid category or tomato red.

Like all the other Dior nail polishes, the application is super easy thanks to the user-friendly brush. The colour spreads so easily and doesn't pool on the edges. Did I mention the nail polish dries  fast as well?

Dior nail polishes are available on the Ici Paris XL website. They come at € 24,35/bottle.

NL: Mensen, die mijn blog regelmatig lezen, weten natuurlijk allang dat Dior mijn favoriete beauty merk is. Mijn favoriete Dior product is zonder twijfel de nagellak. Tot dusver had ik alleen maar positieve ervaringen met de Dior nagellak en Pandore heeft dit zeker niet veranderd. Eén laagje zorgt al voor een perfecte dekking en dankzij een extra top coat (bv. Kiko) schilfert hij de eerste dagen niet. De pigmentatie is ook top. Ik zou Pandore omschrijven als een rode kleur van de midden categorie of tomaat rood. 

Net zoals bij alle andere Dior nagellak, is ook bij deze de applicatie super makkelijk dankzij het gebruiksvriendelijke borsteltje. De kleur laat zich makkelijk uitsmeren en loopt niet over de randen. Had ik trouwens ook al vermeld dat de nagellak heel snel droogt?

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko Nail Lacquer nr 251 Peony Pink

Another review about the Kiko Nail Lacquer. Previously I reviewed nr 275 Black and nr 279 Yellow. After trying out a third color I can only confirm that this is a very qualitive line of nail polishes. Below my review of the nr 251 Peony Pink.

NL: Weer een review van Kiko nagellak. Eerder schrijf ik al blogposts over nr 275 Black en nr 279 Yellow. Na het uitproberen van een derde kleur kan ik alleen maar bevestigen dat een erg kwalitatieve lijn van nagellakjes is. Hieronder kan je mijn review van de nr 251 Peony Pink lezen.

What it promises to do?

Accordingly to the Kiko website:

"Nail polish with hardening and strengthening action.

The gel texture gives an extreme lacquered shine and an ideal level of fluidity for perfect control and great ease of application.
Special resins facilitate ’adherence of the pigments to the ’nail, creating a strong, elastic layer which, thanks to the long wear active ingredients, heightens durability and the brilliance of the colour.
Citral, a natural active ingredient with strengthening and hardening properties, seals and protects the nails creating an unscratchable armor of light."

Package:

The package is simple and straight. The bottle is see-through so you can see the color of the nail polish, I doubt I have ever seen a bottle of nail polish that isn't see-through tough ;-). The bottle mentions the name of the product and has a black cap.

NL: De verpakking is erg simpel en recht toe, recht aan. Het flesje is doorzichtig zodat je uiteraard de kleur van de nagellak kan zien, ik denk trouwens niet dat ik al ooit een flesje nagellak heb gezien dat niet doorzichtig was ;-). Het flesje vermeldt de naam van het product en heeft een zwarte dop.

My own experience:

As all the other Kiko products I have ever tried out, I'm super pleased about this one as well. The brush is very easy to apply the nail polish with, even for clumsy people such as yours truly. Before applying the black nail polish I first used a base coat from Kiko. One layer of the pink nail polish is enough for a complete coverage. I think this is really magnificent and even really expensive nail polishes often need two coats. On top of the pink nail polish I also added a shiny top coat, this one is from Kiko as well. I applied the nail polish yesterday evening before going out and today it's still intact.

NL: Net zoals alle andere Kiko producten die ik uitgeprobeerd heb, ben ik ook super tevreden over dit product. Het borsteltje om de nagellak mee aan te brengen, is erg makkelijk in gebruik zelfs voor de iets minder handige mensen zoals mezelf. Om te starten bracht ik eerst een basis coat aan, ook van Kiko. Eén laagje van de roze nagellak zorgt voor een volledige dekking. Dit is echt een fantastisch resultaat, zeker als je kijkt naar veel duurdere nagellak die vaak twee laagjes nodig heeft om te dekken. Als derde stap bracht ik dan nog een glanzende top coat aan. Ik deed mijn nagels gisteren en vandaag (bijna 24 later) is het resultaat nog altijd intact.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko Sun Show Nail Lacquer

Finally I have another beauty review for you and it's a product by one of my favorite brands: Kiko, more specifically a nail polish. I bought this nail polish ages ago (July) during my holiday in Tuscany. The nail polish is from the Sun Show collection and this again is part of the "Life in Rio" collection! It's limited edition and is inspired by the bright colors of lively nature. I bought number 476 Joyful Emerald as I'm a huge fan of royal colors.

NL: Eindelijk heb ik nog eens tijd om een beauty review te schrijven en deze keer gaat het over een product van één van mijn favoriete merken: Kiko, meer specifiek een nagellak. Ik kocht deze nagellak een eeuwigheid geleden (juli) tijdens mijn vakantie in Toscane. De nagellak is van de Sun Show collectie en deze maakt op zijn beurt dan weer deel uit van de "Life in Rio' collectie! Deze nagellak is gelimiteerd in oplage en is geïnspireerd of de felle kleuren van de levendige natuur. Ik koos nummer 476 Joyful Emerald vermits ik een grote fan ben van royale kleuren.

The nail polish has a shimmery effect and I really love this for a night out or when you hold your hands in rays of light. As all Kiko products, this nail polish is very qualitative and easy to apply. Two streaks are enough for a full coverage.

NL: De nagellak heeft een glanzend effect en ik vind deze kleur vooral super om uit te gaan of als je hem onder licht kunt houden omdat de tinten dan veranderen. Zoals alle Kiko producten, is deze nagellak erg kwalitatief en makkelijk aan te brengen. Twee laagjes zijn genoeg voor een volledige dekking.

As a bonus this nail polish is a 5-free nail polish: it is formulated without adding harsh ingredients such as Toluene, Camphor, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin and Formaldehyde.

In comparison to other Kiko nail polishes it's a bit ùpre expensive: € 5,90. I still think this price is very good for a high-quality product such as Kiko. If you're not convinced yet, there's a 30% discount at the moment. So don't hesitate and order this shade or another here.

NL: Als bonus is deze nagellak een 5-vrije nagellak: het is samen gesteld zonder schadelijke ingrediënten zoals Toluene, Comhor, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin en Forlmaldehyde.

In vergelijking met andere Kiko nagellakjes is deze een beetje duurder namelijk € 5,90. Ik vind dat de prijs nog steeds erg schappelijk is voor een product van hoge kwaliteit zoals bij Kiko het geval is. Als je nog niet overtuigd bent, er is momenteel 30% korting op de Sun Show nagellak. Dus twijfel niet en bestel deze (of een andere) tint hier.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko Nail Lacquer nr 275 black

As you probably read on my blog the past week, I have been on holiday in Tuscany. This area is not only very suitable for sightseeing but almost every town offers a small or big range of amazing stores. One of the most popular beauty chains in Italy is without a doubt Kiko. Every real beauty addict of course adores Kiko and I am no exception. Usually I'm not a huge fan of cheaper and usually less qualitative type of products. But Kiko is cheap and they do really have great products in their range, I'm definitely a fan of their blushes, nail polishes and lipsticks.

The past months I have really been expanding my amount of nail polishes I own. So when I finally had the chance to visit Kiko again, sadly they don't have a store in Belgium, I couldn't resist buying several colors. Weirdly enough I didn't own a black nail polish yet, I know shame on me. I ended up purchasing the Nail Lacquer nr 275 Black. Below you can find my review from this nail polish with some pictures.

NL: Zoals je waarschijnlijk al gelezen had op mijn blog de afgelopen week, ben ik op vakantie geweest in Toscane. Deze streek is niet alleen erg geschikt voor sightseeing maar elk stadje biedt ook een klein of groter aantal geweldige winkels aan. Eén van de beroemdste make-up ketens in Italië, is zonder twijfel Kiko. Elke beauty fan roemt Kiko en ik ben daar geen uitzondering op. Meestal ben ik niet zo voor goedkopere, en gewoonlijk ook minder kwalitatieve producten. Maar Kiko is tegelijk goedkoop en heeft een zeer degelijk gamma. Ik ben dan ook echt een fan van hun blushes, nagellak en lippenstiften.

De afgelopen maanden ben ik echt bezig met uitbreiden van mijn nagellak collectie. Dus toen ik eindelijk nog eens een Kiko winkel bezocht, helaas zijn er geen filialen in België, kon ik dan ook niet anders dan verschillende kleuren aan te kopen. Raar maar waar: ik had nog geen zwarte nagellak, een echte schande! Uiteindelijk kocht ik de Nail Lacquer nr 275 Black. Hieronder vind je mijn review over de nagellak met enkele foto's ter illustratie.

Package:

The package is simple and straight. The bottle is see-through so you can see the color of the nail polish, I doubt I have ever seen a bottle of nail polish that isn't see-through tough ;-). The bottle mentions the name of the product and has a black cap.

NL: De verpakking is erg simpel en recht toe, recht aan. Het flesje is doorzichtig zodat je uiteraard de kleur van de nagellak kan zien, ik denk trouwens niet dat ik al ooit een flesje nagellak heb gezien dat niet doorzichtig was ;-). Het flesje vermeldt de naam van het product en heeft een zwarte dop.

My own experience:

As all the other Kiko products I have ever tried out, I'm super pleased about this one as well. The brush is very easy to apply the nail polish with, even for clumsy people such as yours truly. Before applying the black nail polish I first used a base coat from Kiko. One layer of the black nail polish is enough for a complete coverage. I think this is really magnificent and even really expensive nail polishes often need two coats. On top of the black nail polish I also added a shiny top coat, this one is from Kiko as well. I applied the nail polish yesterday evening before going out and today it's still intact.

NL: Net zoals alle andere Kiko producten die ik uitgeprobeerd heb, ben ik ook super tevreden over dit product. Het borsteltje om de nagellak mee aan te brengen, is erg makkelijk in gebruik zelfs voor de iets minder handige mensen zoals mezelf. Om te starten bracht ik eerst een basis coat aan, ook van Kiko. Eén laagje van de zwarte nagellak zorgt voor een volledige dekking. Dit is echt een fantastisch resultaat, zeker als je kijkt naar veel duurdere nagellak die vaak twee laagjes nodig heeft om te dekken. Als derde stap bracht ik dan nog een glanzende top coat aan. Ik deed mijn nagels gisteren en vandaag (bijna 24 later) is het resultaat nog altijd intact.

When I entered the Patrizia Pepe store I immediately fell in love with this skirt. I have been looking for a model like this for so long and the pattern and colors are amazing.
