OUTFIT: A day-off

Friday I enjoyed an extra day off and I pampered myself: first I went to the gym, afterwards I made my first smoothie, spent some hours in the sun, caught up with my beauty regime, my mom made BBQ and to top things off we went for an ice cream and shot some outfit pictures. Do you remember this coral dress I bought at Zara? The tight fit reminds me a bit of the dresses Kim or Khloe Kardashian would wear. These two women are so inspiring to me in accepting my body.
I think over the years I got to except that I will never be really thin and I found my balance. I went to the gym 4 times this week but on the other hand I refuse to miss out on good food or a drink.
Back to the outfit and the shoot. Lately I'm revisiting some of my favourite locations and today's location is one of them. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

NL: Afgelopen vrijdag genoot ik van een extra dagje vrij en verwende ik mezelf: eerst ging ik naar de fitness, daarna maakte ik mijn eerste smoothie, bracht enkele uurtjes door in de zon, werkte mijn beautyregime bij, mijn mama maakte BBQ klaar en als kers op de taart gingen we een ijsje eten en trokken we foto's van deze outfit. Herinneren jullie nog de koraal jurk dit ik kocht bij Zara? De strakke pasvorm laat me denken aan de jurken die Kim of Khloe Kardashian dragen. Deze twee vrouwen inspireren me om mijn lichaam te aanvaarden zoals het is.
Door de jaren heen heb ik aanvaard dat ik nooit echt mager zal zijn en nu heb ik een bepaalde balans gevonden. Ik ging deze week 4 keer naar de fitness maar aan de andere kant weiger ik om lekker eten of drankjes op te geven. 
Terug naar de outfit en deze shoot. De laatste tijd ga ik terug naar enkele van mijn favoriete locaties en deze locatie is één van hun. Ik hoop dat jullie de foto's leuk vinden!

OUTFIT: Orange inspiration

This Monday it's King's day in the Netherlands, something like a national holiday. Although I'm not Dutch I might still join in on the festivities after work. If you think about Holland, you think of course about the colour orange. And that's where my new orange skirt from H&M comes in. I absolutely love bright colours for spring and the fit of this skirt was just perfect. I immediately decided to put on the skirt for an outfit shoot. Enjoy your weekend babies!

NL: Aanstaande maandag is het Koningsdag in Nederland, dit is een soort nationale feestdag. Ook al heb ik niet de Nederlandse nationaliteit, toch zal ik wellicht wel deelnemen aan de festiviteiten na mijn werk. Als je aan Nederland denkt, denk je natuurlijk aan de kleur oranje. En dus komt mijn nieuwe oranje rok van H&M zeker van pas. Ik ben echt gek van felle kleurtjes voor de lente en de pasvorm van deze rok is perfect. Ik droeg hem dan ook meteen om een outfit shoot te doen. Geniet van jullie weekend babies!

OUTFIT: Suit pants

A while ago I bought some suit pants, gosh, it really sounds very adult to say this ;-) I wore them already a couple of times because the pants are super comfortable and very classy but never got around taking outfit pictures. A shopping trip to Maastricht with my mother was the perfect opportunity to finally show them to you. The location is one of my favourite spots in Maastricht and I shot some pictures years ago for a school project at the same spot. More outfits will soon follow because I have quite some new dresses to show you as well! Till next time!

NL: Een tijdje geleden kocht ik een geklede broek, wow, dat klinkt echt volwassen ;-) Ik droeg de broek al enkele keren omdat deze super comfortabel en zeer klassevol is maar tot nu toe had ik er geen foto's van gemaakt. Een shoppingtocht naar Maastricht met mijn mama was de perfecte gelegenheid om deze broek eindelijk aan jullie te tonen. De locatie is één van mijn favoriete plekken in Maastricht en trok er jaren geleden al foto's voor een schoolproject. OUTFIT: Soft pink dress

In my previous outfit post I showed you the first item I bought at Nikkie: a midi skirt. Today it's time to show you my soft pink dress. I wore this dress Wednesday evening to go to an after work party. It had been amazing weather all day long so I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to wear this dress for the first time. Lately I really have a thing for Dutch brands, another one of my favourites is Supertrash. The clutch in this outfit is from the latter actually. Enjoy your weekend!

NL: In mijn vorige outfit post toonde ik jullie mijn eerste item van Nikkie: een midi rok. Vandaag is het tijd om mijn zacht roze jurkje te tonen. Ik droeg deze jurk afgelopen woensdagavond om naar een afterwork feestje te gaan. Het was de hele dag al zo goed weer en de perfecte gelegenheid om deze jurk voor de eerste keer te dragen was dus aangebroken. De laatste tijd ben ik dol op Nederlandse merken, een andere van mijn favorieten is Supertrash. De clutch in deze outfit is van laatst vermelde. Geniet van jullie weekend!

STYLE REPORT: queen Maxima

Ever since the historic day Maxima and Willem-Alexander became queen and king, she was also crowned as the most fashionable queen of Europe. Maxima knows how to dress for every occasion: formal state visit, a party,... Her style is quite straightforward for a queen and often very colourful. Maxima also wears leather, which is an unusual fabric for a queen. Her favourite designers are Jan Taminiau, Natan and Valentino.

NL: Sinds de historische dag waarop Maxima en Willem-Alexander koning en koningin werden, werd zij ook gekroond tot de meest stijlvolle koningin van Europa. Maxima weet zich super te kleden voor elke gelegenheid: een formeel staatsbezoek, een feestje... Haar stijl is erg vooruitstrevend voor een  koningin en erg kleurrijk. Maxima draagt bijvoorbeeld ook leer, dat is een ongewone stof voor iemand van adel. Haar favoriete ontwerpers zijn Jan Taminiau, Natan en Valentino.

As you might have noticed I have posted a little less than usual on the blog. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with me. But I have just been enjoying the first rays of sunshine and a very busy social schedule. Busy times of course mean that I have a lot to update you about, for example: my latest Instagram pics. NL: Zoals je misschien al gemerkt hebt, poste ik afgelopen week iets minder dan normaal. Geen zorgen, er is niets mis met mij!
