NL: Verleiding is het thema van de wintercollectie van DvF. Diane von Furstenberg richt zich op de onafhankelijke stadsvrouw. Door dat de dag is ze een elegante zakenvrouw. 's Avonds is ze het middelpunt van elk feestje met sexy jurken.

ENG: Seduction is the theme of the winter collection from DvF. Diane von Furstenberg aims on the independent city woman. During the day she's an elegant business woman. At night she's the centre of every party wearing sexy dresses. 

Q: Which look is your favourite?

FASHION: DvF pre-fall

Fall is around the corner and that means that lookbooks are starting to fill my mailbox. One of my favourite collections so far is the pre-fall collection from Diane von Furstenberg. DvF obviously had the seventies on her mind while designing this collection. Bags with snake prints, fringes and metallics stole my heart.  Also check the white dress with the golden details below, this would be perfect for my beach get-away from this weekend.

NL: De herfst wacht om de hoek op ons en dat betekent dat mijn mailbox begint vol te stromen met lookbooks. Een van mijn favoriete collecties tot dusver is de pre-fall collectie van Diane von Furstenberg. DvF zat duidelijk met haar gedachten in de seventies toen ze deze collectie ontwierp. Tassen met slangenprint, franjes en metaal kleuren stelen nu al mijn hart. En wat dan gezegd over deze witte jurk met gouden details hieronder, deze zou perfect zijn voor mijn uitstapje naar de zee deze week.

FASHION: DvF x Bozar, exclusive wrap dress

From 5th June until 13th September every fashion lover in Belgium has to go to Bozar in Brussels. At Bozar the exhibition "The Belgians. An unexpected Fashion Story" will take place. One of the eye catchers of this exhibition will of course be the famous wrap dress from Diane von Furstenberg. To celebrate this, DvF designed an exclusive dress inspired by the seventies. This dress will be sold in the DvF stores in Brussels, Antwerp and Knokke.

NL: Van 5 juni tot 13 september moet heel mode minnend België zich reppen naar de Bozar in Brussel. Daar vindt namelijk de exhibitie "The Belgians. An Unexpected Fashion Story" plaats. Een van de blikvangers van de tentoonstelling zal de befaamde wikkeljurk van Diane von Furstenberg zijn. Om dit te vieren heeft de ontwerpster een jurk ontworpen met een design geïnspireerd op de seventies. De jurk wordt in oplage van 200 stuks verkocht in de boetieks in Brussel, Antwerpen en Knokke.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2014 report 1

We are a couple of days into New York fashion week and my favourite shows so far have been "Diane von Furstenberg" and "Herve Leger for BCBG Max Azria".

40 years ago Diane von Furstenberg invented one of the most iconic clothing pieces ever: the wrapping dress. Her collection still exists out of a couple of wrap dresses every season. This milestone was celebrated with a new location; Spring Studios.

Of course you don't become a major designer by designing one amazing piece. DvF included some striking coats and furs. She saved the best for the last, some looks in my favourite color: gold.

Where Diane von Furstenberg is all about the wrap dress, Max and Lubov Azria from Hervé Leger are all about the bandage dress. They succeeded in reinventing the bandage dress all over again for coming fall, think cage-corset belts, car wash hems and navel-baring cutouts. Texture came with 3-D jacquards and pixelated metal beading.
