HOTSPOT: La Promessa // Bilzen

NL: Wie mij volgt op Instagram (@karenliesens) heeft allicht al vaker het foto's zien de revue passeren uit La Promessa. Dit is een overheerlijk Italiaans restaurant op de markt in Bilzen. Tijd dus om deze hotspot met jullie te delen!

Dat ik dol ben op pasta en pizza is natuurlijk geen geheim meer. De gerechten bij La Promessa zijn super vers en zijn dan ook een waar genot. Tijdens mijn laatste bezoekje opteerde ik voor de Ravioli met spinazie, ricotta en tomatensaus. De smaken zaten echt perfect en de porties zijn ruim voldoende. Een ander pluspunt aan La Promessa is dat de gewone menukaart vaak geüpdatet wordt met een vernieuwde suggestiekaart. Dit is natuurlijk leuk voor regelmatige bezoekers als mezelf. Verder kan ik jullie ook de desserts zeker aanraden!

Van het interieur heb ik helaas geen foto's omdat ik de andere gasten niet wou storen. Het interieur is hyper modern en erg strak. Er wordt veel (paarse) sfeerverlichting gebruikt wat vooral 's avonds een gezellig gevoel heeft. In de zomer kan je ook heerlijk aperitieven in het tuinterras.

It's no secret that I like to indulge into pasta and pizza every day. The meals at La Promessa are always made with fresh ingredients and are a true delight. During my last visit I opted for the ravioli with spinach, ricotta and tomato sauce. The different tastes are always balanced perfectly and the proportions are sufficient. Another plus point is that the menu cart is updated with chancing suggestion meals often. This is great for regular visitors like me. I can recommend the desserts as well!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from the interior because I didn't want to bother the other guests. The interior is very modern with (purple) mood lighting which adds to the cosy atmosphere at night. During the summer you can have lovely drink in the back garden.

HOTSPOT: Barabas Bilzen

When I first started my blog I regularly shared some of my favourite restaurants,... I don't know why but somehow I stopped doing this. I was already thinking about picking up this section again for a while because I really enjoying discovering good restaurants, bars, hotels, ... by reading other blogs.

A couple of months ago Barabas opened its doors in Bilzen (Limburg). Since my citytrip to Barcelona, I'm totally into tapas. You can imagine how excited I was when I learned that a tapas bar would open 15 minutes from my home. 

Barabas is decorated in this typical Spanish style with small tiles on the wall, meat hanging from the ceiling and even the music is adapted. On the menu you have a wide choice of menus or à la carte (choice between vegetarian, fish or meat). If you have a lot of time you can enjoy a wide range of appetizers and finish the night with a delicious dessert (options are changed often) or one of their special coffees. 

I have been a couple of times to Barabas now and I'm really hooked. I love the idea of choosing multiple small dishes. I have been pleased about everything so far and my friends as well. The desserts are really to-die-for! If people speak about a foodgasm, this might be just it. The dishes are ready quite fast and we have always been helped very friendly. I can really recommend visiting Barabas. Do you like tapas? Which is your favourite tapas restaurant?

NL: Toen ik net begon met mijn blog, deelde ik regelmatig mijn favoriete restaurants en bars,... Ik weet niet waarom maar op een bepaald moment ben ik hiermee gestopt. Ik had al een tijdje het idee om terug met dit onderdeel te beginnen omdat ik het ook erg leuk vind om goede restaurants, bars, hotels,.. door andere blogs te ontdekken. 

Enkele maanden geleden opende Barabas zijn deuren in Bilzen (Limburg). Sinds mijn citytrip naar Barcelona ben ik helemaal verzot op tapas. Je kunt je wel voorstellen dat ik in de zevende hemel was toen ik vernam dat er een tapas bar op 15 minuten van mijn thuis zou openen. 

Barabas is gedecoreerd in de typisch Spaanse stijl met kleine tegeltjes op de muur, het vlees hangt aan het plafond en zelfs de muziek is aangepast. Op het menu staat een brede waaier van keuzes; je kan gaan voor een menu of à la carte (keuze tussen vegetarisch, vis of vlees). Als je veel tijd hebt kan je ook kiezen om te beginnen met één van de vele aperitieven of de avond eindigen met een eerlijk dessert (de opties veranderen regelmatig) of één van de speciale koffies. 

Ik ben al enkele keren naar Barabas geweest en ben helemaal verslaafd. Ik vind het super dat je meerdere kleine gerechtjes kunt bestellen. Ik ben tot nu toe tevreden over de volledige lijn en mijn vrienden ook. De desserten zijn overheerlijk! Als mensen spreken over "sex on a plate', dan denk ik dat het over de desserten van Barabas gaat. De gerechten zijn best snel klaar en we werden altijd vriendelijk geholpen. Ik kan jullie echt aanbevelen om hier eens te gaan eten. Vinden jullie tapas lekker? Wat is jullie favoriete tapas bar?

EVENT: Par Fête fashion show

Last Friday I attended a local party called Par Fête. This is an afterwork party with a great buffet and afterwards there's a party with a dj. This time Chloe 2 Dress, I told you about this shop in my previous shoplog, organised a  fashion show to present their spring collection.

Chloe 2 Dress sells brands such as Darling, Lipsy London and Supertrash. The store has lots of pretty party dresses, accessories but also some basic pieces. Underneath you can find some pictures from the event, apologies for the bad quality but taking pictures was very hard.
