REVIEW: Maybelline Baby Lips

Two weeks ago I  was invited to the Blog Class Event by This Chick's got Style. Like any good event all the attendants got a goodiebag. My favourite product by far is the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm. This is definitely the best lip balm I've ever had. They've got it all: the wrapping is cute, they smell really great and I feel they affect the quality of my lips.

The Maybelline Baby lips lip balm is available in 5 variations:

From L to R

- Hydrate: lemon and basilicum
- Freshen: mint
- Repair: cherry and almond
- Cherry me: cherry
- Pink Punch: passion fruit

I've got the Hydrate and the Pink Punch. The first one is transparent, the passion fruit gives a nice, soft touch of pink to your lips. Each baby lips have their own scent.

All the Baby Lips got 20 SPF, which is a plus point. I'm really afraid to damage my skin since I tan regularly. To compensate that I use a lot of products with SPF in. The ingredients are aloë vera, honey and shea butter among others.

The package is really cool and gives a very happy feeling. The text on the package and the colour of the package match really well.

Maybelline promises that they keep your lips soft for a whole day. This is a bit exaggerated but let's say it works for at least a couple of hours. My lips really feel super soft after applying the Baby Lips.

Instalab #13

In this article you get a glimpse into my personal life. Let me know which picture you like the most.

I absolutely loved a lot of shows during Milan Fashion week. Most Italian fashion houses are a bit extravagant, which is exactly my style. Roccobarocco presented the perfect mix between classic pieces and coulourful pieces. Read my report from that show and others here.

Last Saturday I went to a decadent party which was organised in a wine castle. My Flemish readers might know this castle since it was used to shoot the TV show "Zuidflank".

Two weeks ago I was one of the few lucky people who got to attend the Blog Class Event. This was organised by Yara from This Chick's got Style. It was a very inspirational day. Read my report here.

At the Blog Class Event everyone received a goodiebag. Among others things my goodiebag included the latest Elle edition and some delicious chocolate. This was very welcome during the long train ride back home.

This is a picture from Yara and me after the Blog Class Event. Thank you again for this amazing day. I really learned a lot.

After the Blog Class Event, it was time for some amusement. Another party night at club Versuz with some Gin.

You might have noticed that I was a bit absent from the blog last week, this was because of carnival. Carnival is an event during which people get dressed up. One day I got dressed up as a soldier.

Keeping up with the Kardashians is one of my favourite shows at the moment. I was looking for a new show, after Gossip Girl ended, which could really take my mind of things. KUWTK does it every time for me.

Last Thursday my best friend organised a dinner party. The main course was 2 pastas; the left one was spicier; the right one was my favourite with spinach and cheese.

The dessert was a millefieulle from chocolate and ice cream. It's probably pointless to say that this was one of the best desserts I had in my whole life.

The 8th March we celebrated women's day. I think every girl should have friends like the girls from Sex and the City. They have so much fun and can always count on each other.

Last Saturday I had one of my best outfit shoots so far. I chose a spring outfit and my friend knew this great location. These 2 resulted in a great outcome. For more pictures, check my article here.

After the shoot my friend and me took a well-deserved break.

John Galliano RTW Fall 2014

Bill Gaytten designed a very classic and retro like collection this season. The looks were dressy and ladylike. The peplum jackets with fur collars reminded me of the fifties. By using scubalike fabrics and embellishments, the looks got a modern twist. I really adore this collection, here are some of my favourite looks. What do you think?

OUTFIT: Roman style

Today marked the first day of spring in town. The sun was shining and the city was filled with sunglasses-wearing people. This kind of weather brings me in a great mood. I called my best friend to shoot an outfit.

Anouk lives in Tongeren, a city nearby. This is the oldest city from Belgium and has some great sights. My friend knew a great place to take pictures, a sight she had seen during a wedding shoot.

The pictures are taking in a reconstructed Roman temple. This place is magnificent to take pictures. The scenery is mostly white and looks very chic.

As for my outfit, I opted for a spring outfit with some bright colours. Since colour blocking is still all the rage, I chose to combine pink and yellow. What do you think about this outfit?

I'm wearing
top: Fornarina
pants: H&M
blazer: Zara
shoes: New Look
sunglasses: Bulgari
clutch: Jimmy Choo for H&M
watch: Michael Kors
bracelets: Silis

Dior Fashion show Winter 2015

I'm going to pick up where I left off. Unfortunately I'm slacking a bit behind due to carnival. This is an event during which you have to dress up. Some of my costumes the past couple of days where farmer, Batman and soldier.

So back to Paris Fashion Week. One of the shows my jaws dropped open by was the Dior show. Raf Simons surprises us collection after collection with his talent. While with previous collections Simons showed he knows the Dior heritage and respects it, he put his mark on the brand with this collection.

Simons used lots of color blocking. Yes, you can do color blocking in the winter as well! The coats are real statement pieces and will turn into great vintage stuff one day! Raf Simons used a lot of tailoring in the designs. My favourite look is the green and purple dress. What did you think about this show?

Blogger Class Event by This Chick's got style

Last Saturday I got to be part of a very special event. Some of you probably know Yara from the blog This chick's got style. I have been following her for a while and really like her blog because of its diversity and great writing style.

A couple of months ago Yara started doing blogger classes in which she shares her experiences and gives newbies like myself some handful tips. I have been dying to go to one of these events but up until now always had other appointments. So when I got the e-mail with the confirmation that my subscription for this class got accepted, I was over the moon.

Before the event I was a little bit nervous because I had to travel alone to a huge city like Amsterdam. It was my first time there, shame on me. Luckily I live very close to the Dutch borders so I had an easy train connection. My biggest concern was how to get from the train station to the location of the event. Luckily Yara had launched the hashtag #blogclassevent. By using this hashtag on Twitter I got in contact with Kevin. We met up on the train and traveled together to Amsterdam. Kevin, you're really a lifesaver!

The location for this event was WestergasTerras. This is an old industrial site that has been turned into a park with a very authentic character. The café was very cozy with bricks and iron used in the interior. Yara and her team were super welcoming and nice. We immediately got a delicious smoothie offered to us. I expected to be the only Belgian among the attendants but I was wrong. Birgit, a blogging mother from Antwerp, was one of the amazing people I met at this event.

I'm not going to tell too much about the actual class, I can only advise you to attend one. Yara is a great and natural speaker and a real professional. She gave very good tips, things I would probably never think about myself. This class made me clear why she got where she is today. We could ask her anything and she was very open about everything. I'm really going to try to apply these tips on my blog the upcoming weeks and months.

After the class we stayed and chatted some more while drinking delicious martinis and healthy bites. Yara took the time to talk to everybody personally and of course to take pictures. This is a day I won't likely forget very soon. I had an amazing time and fell in love with Amsterdam although I didn't get to see the city center. A trip to Amsterdam is on my to do list for this year.

PS: Thank you Yara and team for the cute goodie bag!
