The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection 2014 fashion show

There's always one special show during New York Fashion Week and that's "The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show". During other shows the main focus is on the brand and the collection they present, the red dress show is about so much more.

February is American Heart month and Go red  for women wants to draw the attention to heart conditions with women. What I really like about this show that real women from different areas hit the catwalk. They show that you don't necessarily need size 0 to look beautiful.

Last saturday was very rainy. Unfortunately that meant having to cut my shopping trip.

Life is full of hard decisions.

I guess you all know the music festival Tomorrowland. I go each year and ticket sale starts today. Because of the huge interest, ordering tickets can take hours. I'm in the vertual waiting line right now. Thumbs up!

Fashion trends : Black and white

Yesterday New York fashion week kicked off a whole month of new trends for next fall. So far I haven't checked out a lot of shows so I thought to write an article on one of my favourite trends for this spring: black and white ensembles. The monochrome trend was seen in different variations: just pairing one piece and another but also using abstract prints.

Monochrome might give you a sixties feeling allthough I must say the designers gave a fresh make-over to the trend. I really like this trend because the designs are very clean and very wearable. This is a trend you could easily fit into your work attire. Here are some of the labels which used the monochrome trend in their collection:

Fashion trend: pastels

If there's one fashion trend taking the catwalks by storm, it's the pastel trend. Lots of outfits with pastel colours were seen in the collections for this upcoming spring. Of course street style is always way ahead so lots of fashion bloggers, models,... have already been spotted with this trend.

The pastel colour range is very wide; for  minty-green to lilac and baby blue. I really like this trend a lot but I have to admit that I don't have a pastel item in my wardrobe yet, except some earrings. Why? I'm honestly not quite sure. Somehow I guess I never found the right piece or didn't have the right items in my closet to match it with. So one of my fashion solutions for this year is trying to find that perfect pastel clothing piece. So how do you feel about this trend? Do you wear it?

H&M New Icons Spring collection

The campaign for the new H&m Icons spring collection has been leaked and I can't wait for its launch with the Fall 2013 still fresh in mind, based on the street style from models Oan Smalls, Daphne Groeneveld, Lindsey Wixson and Liu Wen.

This time it was Andreea Diaconu, Jourdan Dunn, Nadja Bender and Sui He turn to influence an H&M campaign with their style. The collection is expected to be available in stores from April onwards.

My favourite outfits are the blue/white ensemble from Andreea Diaconu and the blazer with print from Nadja Bender. Which are your favourite pieces?

Zuhair Murad Haute Couture spring 2014

Just when I thought we had seen it all for the haute couture collections, Zuhair Murad showed his collection and it was mind-blowing. If you want to feel like a real life Disney princess (& have the budget for it) then this is your time to shine.

The gowns represent spring in every possible way. Most of the dresses have flowers on them and lots of pastel colors where used. Some looks had a "Greek" belt, which is a detail I like a lot. Each look had different variations:  from short to knee length and from full gowns to very elegant jumpsuits! Although all the dresses were chic some had a sexy yet sophisticated look with see-through pieces or bare shoulders.

I can't wait to see celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kristen Stewart on the red carpet with this collection, they have been spotted in Zuhair Murad gowns before.
