FASHION: Meet #BITCHPLEASE

NL: Dat ik een ding heb met sweaters en coole opschriften weten jullie natuurlijk al lang. Al sinds het prille begin van mijn blog heb ik hier regelmatig over geschreven. Want laten we eerlijk zijn: is er één kledingstuk comfortabeler dan een sweater? Nee dus! En nog mooier wordt het als je met je geliefde sweater ook nog een statement kunt maken.

De nieuwste sweater collectie die mij weet te bekoren, is #BITCHPLEASE van de Antwerpse power ladies Anouk en Sigie. Niet alleen hebben zij een goed oog voor wat hip is maar werken zij ook nog eens ecologisch. De dames vinden de modewereld veel te serieus en vandaar kwamen ze dus op te proppen met sarcastische statements.

ENG: It's not a secret that I have a thing with statement sweaters. They have been a regular subject in my blogposts. Let's be honest: is there a more comfortable clothing piece? I guess not! And it gets even better if your beloved sweater brings a message across as well.

The latest sweater collection that stole my heart is #BITCHPLEASE from the Antwerp power ladies Anouk and Sigie. They not only have an eye for what is hot and what is not, they also work ecological. These women feel like the fashion world is too serious and this is how they came up with their sarcastic statements.

EVENT: Uniqlo Antwerp store opening

NL: Donderdagavond werd eindelijk de langverwacht Uniqlo winkel in Antwerpen geopend en ik was erbij! Uniqlo is een winkelketen die uit Japan komt overwaaien en zich specialiseert in simpele en cleane basics in diverse kleuren. Tijdens de openingsweek kunnen jullie genieten van unieke aanbiedingen en kortingen. Hoog tijd dus om dat uitstapje naar Antwerpen te plannen!

ENG: Thursday evening the Uniqlo store finally opened its doors in Antwerp and I was invited! Uniqle is a chain store from Japan which specialises in simple and clean basics in numerous different colours. During the opening week you can enjoy some special offers and reductions. Time to plan that trip to Antwerp!

Princess Late evening shopping SS15

Thursday night I was invited to Antwerp fashion paradise. Princess, one of Belgian's best known couture retailers, organised a late evening shopping event. I was presented at last year's event with Sofie Valkiers' Little Black Book presentation as highlight. This event was so much fun so I couldn't say no when my invitation arrived in the mailbox. 

This time around the attention was completely on the clothes with a fashion show including brands such as Michael Kors, Essentiel, Moschino, Valentino,.. Oh boy do I wish I got my salary twice a month ;-) The attendants could also participate in workshops from YSL beauty, Balmain hair, Dermatologica,.. and discover the vintage goodies from Labelcrush. Thank you Princess for this amazing evening! Below you can see some looks from the fashion show.

NL: Donderdagavond was ik uitgenodigd in het modeparadijs van Antwerpen. Princess, één van Belgisch bekendste couture retailers, organiseerde een shoppingavond. Ik was vorig jaar aanwezig bij het evenement dat in het teken stond van de lancering van Sofie Valkiers! Little Black Book. Dit evenement was zo gezellig dus ik twijfelde geen seconde toen mijn uitnodiging voor dit jaar binnen kwam in de mailbox.

Deze keer draaide het volledig om de nieuwe collectie, die werd getoond in een modeshow, met merken zoals Michael Kors, Essentiel, Moschino, Valentino,... Wat zou ik toch graag tweemaal per maand mijn loon ontvangen ;-) De aanwezigen konden deelnemen aan workshops van YSL beauty, Balmain haar, Dermatologica,... en de vintage goederen van Labelcrush ontdekken. Bedankt aan Princess voor deze geweldige avond! Hieronder zien jullie enkele looks uit de modeshow.

EVENT: O'Rèn Army of Lovers party

 Do you remember that time I told you about this hip and up and coming brand O'rèn? Michael Wauman and Nathan Murillo's brand was all over Belgian fashion magazines the past couple of months and deservedly so. Last Saturday the guys presented their new collection "Army of Lovers" to the world, reason enough for a party right?

Yours truly was invited to this super cool event and in addition, I was one of the lucky few to be invited to the preparty. Picture a fancy hotel suite in Antwerp filled with Belgian finest and fashionable people. Michael and Nathan were super welcoming and the drinks flew abundantly during the preparty, the attendants got to witness the collection in all exclusivity. I can only say one thing: start saving up because believe me, you'll want basically every piece. The collection is army inspired with lots of khaki and cameo. O'rèn's trademark sweaters have different finishes such as sequins,.. Add in some sexy skirts and ripped pants and you have the perfect collection for all of you cool kids out there.

Afterwards the party moved to club Magic, the club from the Ramada Plaza Hotel. Some great music and people was the perfect cocktail for an awesome night. I want to thank Michael and Nathan from O'rèn and the people from Listenup for an amazing night and their hospitality.

NL: Herinneren jullie nog deze blogpost over het hippe en rijzende merk O'rèn? Michael Wauman en Nathan Murillo's merk kon je de afgelopen maanden opmerken in zo goed als elk Belgisch modemagazine en terecht. Afgelopen zaterdag presenteerden de jongens hun nieuwe collectie "Army of Lovers" aan de wereld, reden genoeg voor een feestje toch!?

Ondergetekende was uitgenodigd op dit super coole evenement plus, ik was ook nog één van de gelukkigen die mocht aanwezig zijn op de preparty. Beeld je in: een fancy hotelsuite in Antwerpen gevuld met de mooiste en stijlvolste mensen van België. Michael en Nathan ontvingen ons als prinsessen en de drankjes vloeide rijkelijk tijdens de preparty, de aanwezigen konden de collectie in alle exclusiviteit ontdekken. Ik kan maar één ding zeggen: begin al meer te sparen want geloof mij, je gaat elk stuk uit deze collectie willen. De collectie had als thema "leger" met veel kaki en cameo. O'rèn's kenmerkende sweaters hebben verschillende afwerkingen zoals pailletten,... Voeg daar nog enkele sexy rokjes en gescheurde broeken aan toe en je hebt de perfecte collectie voor de cool kids onder jullie.

Daarna ging het feestje verder in club Magic, de club van het Ramada Plaza Hotel. Geweldige muziek en mensen waren de perfecte cocktail voor een fantastische avond. Ik wil graag Michael en Nathan bedanken van O'rèn en de mensen van Listenup voor de super avond en hun gastvrijheid.

EVENT: Bloggerskoffie

One thing I love about blogging is the dozens of people I have met since starting my blog. They share the same passions, dreams and point of view. For quite some time now I'm member of  Bloggerscafé, a Facebook group in when you can ask your blog related questions. So here's what we did during the Bloggerskoffie in Antwerp.

NL: Eén van dingen die ik super vind aan bloggen, zijn de tientallen mensen die ik al ontmoet heb dankzij mijn blog. Ze delen dezelfde passies, dromen en standpunten. Ik ben al een tijdje lid van Bloggerscafé, een Facebook groep waarin je al je blog gerelateerde vragen kunt stellen. Hieronder vind je een verslagje van de activiteiten tijdens de Bloggerskoffie in Antwerpen. 

The Chocolate Box

We met up at noon so of course we had to start off with some food. Although I'm all too familiar with the shopping streets of Antwerp, I sadly have to admit that I don't know the side streets at all. Luckily some of the bloggers present are from Antwerp and proposed The Chocolate Box as lunch place. This cute place is decorated in a very romantic/retro style and owned by the sweetest people. You can go for some standard lunch options such as sandwiches or toasts or take the special of the day. I opted for the latter one and got a vegetarian quiche which was super delicious. 

NL: We spraken af rond de middag dus lunch was het eerste punt op de agenda. Ook al ben ik maar al te bekend met de winkelstraten van Antwerpen, moet ik wel helaas bekennen dat ik de zijstraten helemaal niet ken. Gelukkig waren enkele aanwezige bloggers van Antwerpen en stelden zij voor om te gaan lunchen bij The Chocolate Box. Deze plaats is gedecoreerd in een romantische/retro stijl en wordt geleid door de liefste mensen. Je kunt kiezen tussen een aantal standaardlunch opties zoals broodjes of croques maar is ook een dagaanbieding. Ik koos het laatste en kreeg een heerlijke, vegetarische lunch. 

Walk: The Kaaien

A part of Antwerp that always fascinated me while driving through Antwerp is The Kaaien. Unfortunately the weather was really awful last weekend but Antwerp is gorgeous any season.

NL: De Kaaien is altijd een plaats geweest die me erg aansprak als ik door Antwerpen reed. Jammer genoeg was het weer echt vreselijk afgelopen weekend maar Antwerpen is mooi tijdens elk seizoen. 

Coffee break: The school of life

After a walk through the cold be could use some drinks to regain some life in our limbs. The School of Life is another one of those bars that are definitely worth visiting. While having a drink of a small bite you can buy books, subscribe to life courses,... 

NL: Na een wandeling in de kou waren warme drankjes meer dan welkom om terug op te warmen. The School of Life is één van die plaatsjes die zeker het bezoeken waard zijn. Terwijl je geniet van een lekkere koffie of een hapje kan je een boek kopen of je inschrijven voor enkele levenscursussen. 

Momade Cupcakes

Melissa and Ines from Bloggerscafé also arranged a guided tour at Momade Cupcakes. Unfortunately this didn't go as planned because of a mix up. Nonetheless the people from Momade Cupcakes were really nice and give us a box filled with cupcakes to try out. What can I say? Tasting the cupcakes was like heaven on earth. Next time I'm in Antwerp I won't mind walking some extra miles to get some delicious cupcakes. 

NL: Melissa en Ines van Bloggerscafé regelden ook een tour bij Momade Cupcakes. Jammer genoeg viel dit in het water door een vergissing. Desalniettemin gaven de mensen van Momade Cupcakes een doos gevuld met lekkers mee om uit te proberen. Wat moet ik zeggen? De cupcakes smaakten hemels. Bij mijn volgend bezoek aan Antwerpen zal ik zeker niet twijfelen om enkelen meters extra te wandelen om enkele van deze heerlijke cupcakes te kopen.

EVENT: #MYGUESS Party

I really feel so blessed that my blog is doing so well lately and the invites to events start to arrive gradually. Ten days ago I experienced one of the best fashion events I have ever been to: the MYGUESS party. This one was in honor of the new Guess Nashville collection and took place at The Villa in Antwerp. All the ingredients for a great party were present: a lot of beautiful people, the amazing fashion vibe, great music, delicious bites and lovely drinks. I had a great time catching up with my blogger friends Natasja, Nathalie and Lima while dancing to the heavenly beats of the music. NL: Ik voel me echt vereerd dat mijn blog het zo goed doet de laatste tijd en de uitnodigingen voor evenementen beginnen binnen te stromen. Tien dagen geleden beleefde ik één van de beste evenementen ooit: de MYGUESS party. Deze werd georganiseerd ter eren van de nieuwe Guess Nashville collectie en vond plaats in The Villa Antwerpen. Alle ingrediënten voor een geslaagd feestje waren aanwezig: veel mooie mensen, de gewelde mode vibe, geweldige muziek, heerlijke hapjes en smakelijke drankjes. Ik vond het super om bij te praten met mijn blogger vrienden Natasja, Nathalie en Lima terwijl we dansten op de hemelse tonen van de muziek. Hieronder krijg je een glimp van een modefeestje.

Last week when I attended the Belmodo x Triumph shapewear Shopping Night I arrived quite late in Antwerp. To my surprise and joy the Forever 21 store doesn't close at 6 PM unlike most stores. I really like Forever 21 for their great accessories in every color from the rainbow. My excitement got even bigger when I realized that there was a promotion on the accessories: get 3, pay 2. I'm really sorry but I just started shopping and I forgot to check the expiry date for this promotion.
