HOTSPOT: Manhattn's Burgers

NL: De laatste tijd zie ik op Instagram steeds vaker de heerlijkste hamburgerfoto's voorbij en steeds is dit in het restaurant Manhattn's Burgers. Toen ik afgelopen week in Brussel was, moest ik er dus wel langs gaan voor lunch. 

Alles aan dit restaurant straalt New York uit. Buitenaf lijk je zo een restaurant in Manhattan binnen te stappen en de lichtreclame is duidelijk een knipoog naar the city that never sleeps. Binnen heb je veel wandtekeningen en het taxi geel komt overal terug in het interieur. 

Maar bon.. het belangrijkste is natuurlijk het eten, toch!? De burgers van Manhattn's zijn gemaakt met echt kwaliteitsvlees. Ik ging voor de Rockefeller burger (gekarameliseerde uien) en frietjes met kruiden. Deze zijn echt overheerlijk! Wil je liever op het gezonde pad gaan, zijn er ook een aantal salades beschikbaar. Jammer genoeg was er bij mij geen plaats meer voor een dessert want de  Ice Cream Sandwich klonk nochtans als muziek in de oren. 

ENG: Lately I see one photo after another passing by on my Instagram feed picturing deliciously-looking hamburgers and these photos were always captured at Manhattn's Burgers. So when I was finally in Brussels last week, I had to have lunch at this restaurant.

Everything about this place reminds you of New York. From the outside you feel like you walk straight into a restaurant in Manhattan and the light publicity is a wink to the city that never sleeps as well. Inside the walls are covered with wand drawings and the yellow taxi colour is used a lot in the interior. 

But anyway.. .the food is the most important, right!? Quality meat is used for the burgers of Manhattn's. I opted for the Rockefeller burger (caramelized onions) and fries with herbs. These are to die for! A lot of salads are on the menu as well if you prefer a healthy option. Unfortunately I didn't have any room left for a dessert because the Ice Cream Sandwich sounded like music to my ears.

EVENT: Scapa & Elle afterwork cocktail at Scapa Brussels

NL: Zoals je gisteren al las, vertoefde ik vorige week in het prachtige Brussel. Het tweede event op de agenda was de Scapa & Elle afterwork cocktail. Met een heerlijk hapje en drankje in de hand konden de aanwezigen de nieuwe Scapa collecties ontdekken. 

Scapa is een Belgische luxe merk dat op elk gebied kwaliteit wil uitstralen; van de beste stoffen tot vriendelijke klantenservice. Dit mochten Nena en ik ook in Brussel ervaren, waar we meer dan hartelijk werden onthaald door het Scapa team. De silhouetten van de kledij vind ik misschien nog niet ietsjes te damesachtig voor mijn leeftijd maar een paar prachtige Scapa schoenen wil ik wel graag toevoegen aan mijn garderobe! Hieronder vind je een kleine impressie. 

ENG: As you could read yesterday, I was in gorgeous Brussels last week. The second event on my agenda was the Scapa & Elle afterwork cocktail. We got the chance to discover the new Scapa collections while having some delicious bites and sipping cocktails. 

Scapa is a luxurious Belgian brand which excels in delivering quality on all fields; starting with using the finest fabrics up till their friendly client service. Nena and I experienced this first hand in Brussels where we were welcomed very warmly by the Scapa team. The silhouettes of the clothes are maybe a bit too ladylike for someone of my age, but I wouldn't mind adding a pretty pair of Scapa shoes to my collection! EVENT: Visit the best destinations in the world with SWATCH - Brussels

NL: Postkaarten meebrengen van jouw reisbestemmingen is zo passé. Vanaf nu kan je vanuit elke wereldstad een unieke Swatch horloge meebrengen. Afgelopen donderdag mocht ik het Brusselse exemplaar gaan ontdekken. Elk horloge toont iets specifiek uit de desbetreffende stad. In Brussel kan je het exemplaar "Ketje from Brussels" bemachtigen. 

KETJE FROM BRUSSELS heeft een blauwe wijzerplaat met een goudkleurige opdruk van Manneke Pis met een rood hart op zijn arm getatoeëerd. Zijn urinestraal kleurt zwart, geel en rood: de kleuren van de Belgische vlag. De blauwe armband heeft 2 lussen: op de eerste staat Greetings from in het wit en op de tweede de trotse vermelding Brussels in goud.

ENG: Bringing home post cards from your travel destinations is so in the past. As of today you can bring home a unique Swatch watch from every world city. Last Thursday I got the chance to discover the edition from Brussels. Each watch represents something specifically from each city. In Brussels you can purchase the "Ketje from Brussels" edition.

Ketje from Brussels has a blue dial met golden printing from Manneke Pis with a red heart tattooed on his arm. His urine stream colours black, yellow and red: the colours of the Belgian flag. The blue wristband has two bows: one says Greetings from in white and the other mentions Brussels in gold.

OUTFIT: Trip to Brussels

This Sunday the shops in most cities were opened to give more opportunity to the shoppers to buy Christmas gifts. My mother, father and I decided to go to Brussels because I was chasing after a Karen Millen dress for New Year. In tomorrow's shoplog I will show you the items that I bought but today I'll show some pics of my outfit and the beautiful city that is Brussels.

NL: Deze zondag waren de meeste winkels geopend om de shoppers meer kans te geven om kerstcadeautjes te kopen. Mijn mama, papa en ik besloten om naar Brussel te gaan omdat ik op zoek was naar een Karen Millen kleed voor Nieuwjaar. In de shoplog van morgen zal ik jullie de items tonen die ik gekocht heb maar vandaag toon ik jullie enkele foto's van mijn outfit en de prachtige stad Brussel.

EVENT: Geox breathes

So last night another trip to Brussels was on the agenda. This time it wasn't for another round of shopping though but for an event. When I first saw the invite on Sofie Valkiers aka Fashionata's website I was doubting to attend the event. I never bought Geox shoes because they didn't really attract me. But then Sofie wore the amazing slip-ons in one of her outfits and it became clear that Geox is busy modernising their image. And with success I must say!

The event was organised at their shop in Brussels on the Rue des Fripiers which is very close to the Grand Place. Linde and Anouk, two of my best friends, joined me to the big city. The atmosphere was very relaxed and Sofie was super nice as usual. She's a real natural at attending these kinds of events and being a representative for a brand.

Geox and Claudia Wünsch Communication made sure that everything went very smoothly. We got offered lots of bites, healthy sandwiches but of course some chocolates couldn't be missing either.

As for the shoes I must admit that I was really surprised. Geox is known for great quality so when they say that their shoes "breath", it isn't a lie. But I was definitely struck by the modern and feminine designs from the shoes as well. I fell in love with the black slip-ons but unfortunately they made my feed look quite big so I passed on them. I will definitely keep my eye on Geox in the future.
