INSPIRATION: The bag with a wink

During the latest fashion weeks the funny bags where everywhere. Brands such as Judith Leiber or Charlotte Olympia have made them there trademark but now Moschino, Chanel and others have hopped on this train as well.

The first time this kind of bag caught my eye was during the first Sex and the City movie. As an ode to Carrie's temporary love affair with Paris and Aleksandr Petrovsky she carries around an Eiffel tower shaped bag. The bag is designed by Timmy Woods and doesn't come cheap. Of course Carrie Bradshaw is a trendsetter who is ages beyond all of us.

So this year during the fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris these quirky accessories started to pop up again. Kate Spade searched her inspiration in Asia with a bag disguised as a Chinese take-out box. According to Anya Hindmarch breakfast is the most important meal of the day, check out his Kellogg's inspired bags. Karl Lagerfeld surprised the fashion world again with his decor, this time he went for a total Chanel supermarket with milk bottles as bags,... Don't let us forget about Judith Leiber and Charlotte Olympia who make the most amazing and funny looking bags season after season.

But the most talked about fashion show and sold-out collection is without doubt the "McDonalds" collection from Jeremy Scott for Moschino. The red/yellow bags and phone covers are everywhere.

I have been searching the internet a bit but unfortunately I haven't been able to find some cheaper yet pretty replacements for the expensive examples underneath. Do you have some tips for me?

  2. Ik vind die trend zo cool! Je vindt hier en daar wel eens iets dat in de buurt komt van deze beauties, maar ik heb ook nog geen echt waardige/goedkopere alternatieven gevonden...
