FASHION: Girl Power

NL: Hello Girls en boys, hier ben ik weer met een nieuwe blogpost. Bij deze outfit hoort toch wel een serieuzer verhaal dus hou jullie klaar. Een tijdje geleden kreeg ik een mailtje van Jimani Collections, een webshop met een doel. De Jimani juweeltjes worden hand gemaakt door stuk voor stuk speciale vrouwen. Vrouwen, uit armere landen, die voorheen financieel niet voor hun familie konden zorgen. Deze vrouwen vervaardigen elke dag de mooiste juweeltjes gemaakt van echte koraal, keramiek of been uit Nairobi (Kenia). In ruil krijgen deze dames van Jimani uiteraard een eerlijk loon en staan ze nu een stuk sterker in het leven. Jij kunt uiteraard deze dames een handje helpen door een juweeltje te bestelling op de website. Van Girl Power gesproken!

Als we over Girl Power spreken, denken we natuurlijk ook aan de Spice Girls en van daaruit is de stap naar de nineties snel gezet. Slip dresses zijn het volgende kledingstuk uit de jaren '90 dat zijn comeback maakt. Mijn slip dress is van St. Studio, nog zo een merk dat mij als vrouw veel zelfvertrouwen schenkt! A while ago I received a mail of Jimani Collections; a webshop with a cause. The Jimani jewellery pieces are hand made by special women. Women, from a pore region in the world, who couldn't provide financially for their families. Each day these women try to make the most gorgeous pieces of jewellery using real coral, ceramic and bone from Nairobi (Kenya). In exchange these women get a fair salary from Jimani and this has definitely improved their life quality. You can help these women by ordering your piece of jewellery on the website. OUTFIT: Catch-up

NL: De afgelopen week was ik een beetje aanwezig op de blog. Dit heeft een goede reden: ik was enkele dagen in Nederland om live de Giro D'Italia te volgen. Als jullie mij op Instagram of Snapchat (@karenliesens) volgen, zullen jullie wel gezien hebben dat ik een grote wielerfan ben. Ik heb echt genoten van enkele dagen weg en het mooie weer. 

Deze week zal ik weer proberen terug meer te posten op de blog. Hou me zeker ook in de gaten op mijn andere sociale kanalen want ik ga ook naar een event van Unilever. Zo nu zijn jullie weer helemaal up-to-date. Wat vinden jullie trouwens van deze outfit?

ENG: The past week I was absent from the blog with reason though : I spent a few days in the Netherlands to watch the Giro D'Italia live. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (@karenliesens) you might have already noticed that I'm a huge cycling fan. I really enjoyed these few days off and the gorgeous weather.

OUTFIT: Pink blossoms

NL: Als je de afgelopen weken de modewebsites afschuimde, kon je talloze tips & tricks vinden om een lenteschoonmaak in je klerenkast te houden. Vol goede moed borg ik alle truien op, ruimde ik mijn sjaals op en hing ik de kleedjes wat meer naar voren. Tevergeefs moeite blijkt nu want de Belgische weergoden gedragen zich weer erg vreemd. 

Afgelopen weekend daalde de temperaturen plots tot rond het vriespunt en begon het te sneeuwen. Ik stond klaar voor een etentje met mijn nieuwe Zara jeans en onderstand bustier topje. Maar zo kon ik toch niet naar buiten!? Tijdens de wintermaanden had ik de coltrui definitief in mijn hart gesloten en herinnerde ik mij dat ik nog een wit exemplaar in de kast had hangen. Et voila... mijn fashionable outfit was klaar. Wat vinden jullie er van?

ENG: If you've visited some fashion websites the past weeks, you couldn't look past the countless tips & tricks on doing spring cleaning in your wardrobe. I put on my brave face and started putting away all my sweaters, got rid of my scarfs and took out my summer dresses. It looks like I could have saved me that effort because the Belgian weather is being all over the place.

Last weekend temperatures dropped to the freezing point and it started snowing. I was ready to go out for dinner, wearing my new Zara jeans and the bustier top below. But I couldn't go outside like this, could I!? During the winter months collar sweaters captured my heart and I remembered I still had a white one hanging in my closet. Et voila... my fashionable outfit was born. Do you like my outfit?

OUTFIT: Off the shoulder

NL:  Je hebt ze allicht al opgemerkt in het straatbeeld en modemagazines: de off the shoulder topjes. Deze topjes onthullen je schouders en zorgen op een subtiele manier voor een sexy toets in jouw outfit. Rood is één van mijn lievelingskleuren en deze top kon ik dan ook niet laten hangen toen ik onlangs op de opening van het nieuwe H&M filiaal in Antwerpen aanwezig was. Luipaardprint vind ik altijd bijzonder mooi staan bij rood dus vandaar deze clutch. Wat vinden jullie van deze outfit?

ENG: You've probably already spotted them in the streets and fashion magazines: the off the shoulder tops. These tops reveal your shoulders and subtly put a sexy touch into your outfit. Red is one of my favourite colours and I couldn't resist when I spotted this top when I attended the opening of the new H&M store in Antwerp. Leopard matches perfectly with red so that's why I opted for this clutch. How do you feel about this outfit?

OUTFIT: Bringing sexy back

NL: De winkels beginnen langzaam maar zeker vol te geraken met leuke zomer spulletjes en dit weekend beloofd het ook stralend weer te worden. Tijd dus om die mooie jurken en rokken uit de kast te halen. 

Persoonlijk toon ik graag wat van mijn huid maar dan liefst niet op een ordinaire manier natuurlijk. Een jurk met open rug vind ik persoonlijk bijzonder aantrekkelijk en klassevol. Eén probleem echter: welke BH doe je aan? 

In het verleden probeerde ik wel eens "plak-BH's" maar eerlijk gezegd was ik hier niet zo enthousiast over. Nog voor je goed en wel vertrokken was naar een feestje, verschoof deze BH al. Onlangs werd ik echter door MAGIC Body Fashion gecontacteerd of ik hun "blote rug BH" wou uitproberen. Met enige twijfel begon ik aan de test en met succes! Deze BH is echt van top kwaliteit. Op de volledige achterkant van de BH zit stevig plakmateriaal. Je voelt je meteen op jouw gemak omdat je voelt dat dit gaat blijven zitten. ENG: Stores are being filled with pretty summer clothing and the weather report for this weekend looks splendid. Time to get those gorgeous dresses and skirts out of the closet.

Personally I love to show off a little bit of skin but not in a trashy kind of way of course. A backless dress is my favourite way to accomplish this and is both attractive and classy at the same time. One problem though: which bra to wear?

In the past I tried some backless bras but honestly I wasn't that pleased about them. Right after you headed to a party the bra started already to move. Recently I got contacted by MAGIC Body Fashion to give their backless bra a try. With some doubt in my mind I did the test and this bra is a real winner! The bra is very qualitative. The complete backside of the bra is covered with very sticky material. You immediately feel at ease wearing it because you know this bra will stick to your skin the whole evening. OUTFIT: My favourite clothes from SKM

NL: Bloggen neemt heel veel tijd in beslag maar af en toe heb je echt van die wow-momenten. Eén van die momenten was toen ik enkele weken geleden een uitnodiging van SKM in de brievenbus kreeg. SKM heeft het grootste merkenaanbod van dit land en de winkel is enorm. Waar SKM bij mij voorheen vooral bekend stond om hun dameskledij, dan wordt er nu verandering in gebracht. SKM steekt in een nieuw kleedje en biedt nu ook jonge en hippe merken aan zoals onder andere Supertrash, Nikkie en Guess.

Afgelopen donderdag trok ik dus met een missie richting SKM, want zij hadden mij en een aantal andere bloggers uitgenodigd om het nieuwe merkenaanbod te ontdekken en onze lievelingsoutfit samen te stellen. Het volledige resultaat kan je binnenkort gaan ontdekken op posterformaat in de SKM winkel maar in deze blogpost krijg je alvast een voorproefje. Het enorm hulpvaardige team was zo vrijgevig om mij de rok van Scee by Twin-Set en de blazer van Liu Jo mee naar huis te geven. 

De rok trok meteen mijn aandacht omwille van de prachtige oud gouden kleur, Dit staat toch net ietsjes klassenvoller dan gewoon goud. De rok zit ook enorm comfortabel in tegenstelling tot de meeste kokerrokken die ik bezit. De witte blazer is gewoon echt een pronkstuk voor mijn collectie. De pasvorm is perfect, de zoomen zijn prachtig afgewerkt en er zit een mooie, gouden knoop op. Dus allen richting SKM in Aartselaar!

ENG: Blogging takes up a lot of time but every now and then you have these wow moments. One of those moments was a few weeks ago when I received an invite of SKM in my mail box. SKM is the biggest brand store in Belgium. I always considered SKM to be well-known for their ladies wear, but times have changed. SKM is updating their image and are offering a lot of young and trendy brands such as Supertrash, Nikkie and Guess as well. 

Last Thursday I arrived at SKM with a mission because they had invited a couple of bloggers to discover the new brands and compile our favourite outfit. You'll be able to discover the full result at the SKM store very soon but you already get a preview in this blogpost. The helpful team was so generous to gift me the skirt from Scee by Twin-Set and the blazer from Liu Jo.

The skirt was love at first sight because of the gorgeous, old-gold colour. It's so much classier than standard gold. The skirt is very comfortable in contrast to the other pencil skirts I own. The white blazer is a real showpiece in my wardrobe. The fit is perfect and there's a gorgeous golden button. So go to SKM in Aarteselaar.
