BEAUTY REVIEW: Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess powder

While I'm fighting off the flu I'm trying to write a new beauty review. Since I'm not feeling too well, I thought I really should write a blogpost about a product I'm ecstatic about. Consequently I chose the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess powder.

NL: Terwijl ik tegen de griep vecht, probeer ik een nieuwe beauty review te schrijven. Vermits ik me niet echt lekker voel, moest ik wel over een product schrijven waarover ik laaiend enthousiast ben. Daarom koos ik dan ook de Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess poeder. 

The powder is available in four colors, I use the medium color. The others are Deep, Light and Medium Deep. As you will see in the pictures below Medium is still quite dark in my opinion. I mostly use it for contouring. The brush is super easy to spread the product equally.

NL: De poeder is verkrijgbaar in vier kleuren, ik gebruik de medium kleur. De anderen zijn Deep, Light en Medium Deep. Zoals jullie in de foto's hier zien, is Medium nog steeds best aan de donkere kant. Ik gebruik het dan ook vooral voor contouring. De borstel is erg gemakkelijk in gebruik en verspreidt het product mooi. 

The packaging is very sleek and big. The Estée Lauder bronze Goddess powder is a bit expensive but nonetheless you receive a lot of product.

NL: De verpakking is erg strak en groot. De Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess poeder is een beetje duur maar desalniettemin krijg je er wel een grote hoeveelheid product voor in de plaats. 

The powder gives a sun kissed result and doesn't smear over time. I use this product every day and it's a real keeper! Interested? You can buy it in your local Ici Paris XL store or online for €37,25.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

Do you remember a while ago when Instagram and other social media were taken over by Monsieur Black and his contest to win your "Dose of addiction" by becoming his muse. Well I was one of those lucky bastards to be chosen and to receive this incredible new fragrance. I took me a while to try out because I have been battling a cold but now you can finally read my opinion about it.

NL: Herinneren jullie nog hoe een tijdje geleden Instagram en andere social media werden overspoeld door Monsieur Black en zijn wedstrijd om je "Dose of Addiction" te bemachtigen door zijn muze te worden. Ik was één van de geluksvogels die verkozen werd en deze geweldige nieuwe geur in ontvangst mocht nemen. Het heeft een tijdje geduurd voordat ik Black Opium van Yves Saint Laurent kon uitproberen door een verkoudheid maar nu kunnen jullie hier eindelijk mijn mening lezen.

Normally I don't start off with the package when reviewing a product but in the case of this product you can't really overlook the magnificent perfume bottle and box. The ad for Black Opium was rock chic and the bottle reflects that perfectly. It's made of some shiny and stony kind of material with a pink see-through glass in the middle. The cap is very chic as well.

NL: Normaal begin ik tijdens een review nooit de verpakking maar in dit geval is de verpakking gewoon echt een eyecatcher en kan je niet naast het magnifieke flesje en doosje kijken. De publiciteitscampagne van Black Opium straalde rock chic uit en het flesje geeft dat ook perfect weer. De flacon is gemaakt uit een soort van glanzend en steenachtig materiaal met een roos doorschijn glaasje in het midden. De dop is ook erg chic.

Notes of coffee dominate this scent. But this scent is softend by pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla and cedar. This fragrance is very strong, which I love. If you love more delicate perfumes, skip this one. The scent is not comparable to the old Opium. This scent is much more sexy and rock & roll.

NL: Koffie is de overheersende noot in deze geur. Verder wordt deze verzacht door rode peper, oranjebloesem, Jasmine, vanille en ceder. De geur is erg sterk en hier hou ik wel van. Als je meer voor een verfijnd parfum bent, zou ik deze geur even overslaan. De geur is absoluut niet vergelijkbaar met de oude Opium. Deze geur is veel meer sexy en Rock & Roll.

You can order the Black Opium online or in stores at Ici Paris XL. The 30 ml bottle, which is the one I own, comes at € 50,30. This is maybe a bit pricy for its volume but then again the fragrance is amazing. Have you tried out this perfume already? What's your opinion?

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko Nail Lacquer nr 251 Peony Pink

Another review about the Kiko Nail Lacquer. Previously I reviewed nr 275 Black and nr 279 Yellow. After trying out a third color I can only confirm that this is a very qualitive line of nail polishes. Below my review of the nr 251 Peony Pink.

NL: Weer een review van Kiko nagellak. Eerder schrijf ik al blogposts over nr 275 Black en nr 279 Yellow. Na het uitproberen van een derde kleur kan ik alleen maar bevestigen dat een erg kwalitatieve lijn van nagellakjes is. Hieronder kan je mijn review van de nr 251 Peony Pink lezen.

What it promises to do?

Accordingly to the Kiko website:

"Nail polish with hardening and strengthening action.

The gel texture gives an extreme lacquered shine and an ideal level of fluidity for perfect control and great ease of application.
Special resins facilitate ’adherence of the pigments to the ’nail, creating a strong, elastic layer which, thanks to the long wear active ingredients, heightens durability and the brilliance of the colour.

Package:

The package is simple and straight. The bottle is see-through so you can see the color of the nail polish, I doubt I have ever seen a bottle of nail polish that isn't see-through tough ;-). The bottle mentions the name of the product and has a black cap.

NL: De verpakking is erg simpel en recht toe, recht aan. Het flesje is doorzichtig zodat je uiteraard de kleur van de nagellak kan zien, ik denk trouwens niet dat ik al ooit een flesje nagellak heb gezien dat niet doorzichtig was ;-). Het flesje vermeldt de naam van het product en heeft een zwarte dop.

My own experience:

As all the other Kiko products I have ever tried out, I'm super pleased about this one as well. The brush is very easy to apply the nail polish with, even for clumsy people such as yours truly. Before applying the black nail polish I first used a base coat from Kiko. One layer of the pink nail polish is enough for a complete coverage. I think this is really magnificent and even really expensive nail polishes often need two coats. On top of the pink nail polish I also added a shiny top coat, this one is from Kiko as well. I applied the nail polish yesterday evening before going out and today it's still intact.

NL: Net zoals alle andere Kiko producten die ik uitgeprobeerd heb, ben ik ook super tevreden over dit product. Het borsteltje om de nagellak mee aan te brengen, is erg makkelijk in gebruik zelfs voor de iets minder handige mensen zoals mezelf. Om te starten bracht ik eerst een basis coat aan, ook van Kiko. Eén laagje van de roze nagellak zorgt voor een volledige dekking. Dit is echt een fantastisch resultaat, zeker als je kijkt naar veel duurdere nagellak die vaak twee laagjes nodig heeft om te dekken. Als derde stap bracht ik dan nog een glanzende top coat aan. Ik deed mijn nagels gisteren en vandaag (bijna 24 later) is het resultaat nog altijd intact.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Guerlain Lingerie de peau BB

What does this product promis to do?

Package:

The tube is skin-colored with black and white writing and a black cap. The tube itself has a spray cap, which is very good for skin products because it's more hygienic.

NL: De tube is huidkleurig met zwarte en witte tekst en een zwarte dop. De tube zelf heeft een soort van sproeikop. Dit vind ik echt een voordeel omdat het meer hygiënisch is.

My experience:

I have been using these BB crème for a couple of months now. Like most of my products, I first lend it from my mum before I actually bought the product myself. This product is available in two shades, the medium shade is ideal for me.

I applied  the crème with my fingers onto my face, blending from the center outwards. This crème is really perfect for my skin tone right now. Since we have had a really bad summer I'm not really tanned and my previous summer BB crème was too dark.

This BB crème is called "Lingerie de Peau", so naturally I have to ask myself: "does this product really make my skin soft?" The answer to that question is definitely yes. Another plus side is that I don't have the feeling that this product makes my skin more greasier. So if you want a foundation that feels light on your skin, is easy to apply, has a great finish and protect you against the sun, choose the Lingerie de Peau from Guerlain.

The down side is maybe the price. Ici Paris XL sells it for € 44,95. I'm the kind of person who rather wears no make-up than a cheap product which looks awful. In my opinion this product is worth its price.

 NL: Ik gebruik deze BB crème al enkele maanden. Zoals de meeste van mijn producten, heb ik deze eerst van mijn mama geleend voordat ik zelf het product ging kopen. Deze crème is beschikbaar in 2 tinten, de medium tint is ideaal voor mij.

Ik breng de BB crème aan op mijn huid door mijn vingers te gebruiken en het product te mengen van binnen naar buiten toe. Deze crème is echt perfect mijn huidtint. Vermits we echt een slechte zomer hebben gehad, ben ik niet zo bruin en dus was mijn vorige zomer BB crème te donker.

Deze BB crème heet "Lingerie de Peau" dus natuurlijk dringt zich dan de volgende vraag op: "Maakt dit product mijn huid echt zachter?". Het antwoord op die vraag is zeker en vast ja. Een ander voordeel is ook dat ik niet het gevoel heb dat dit product mijn huid vettiger maakt, wat meestal wel het geval is. Dus als je een foundation wilt die licht aanvoelt op je huid, die makkelijk aan te brengen is, een geweldig eindresultaat geeft en je huid ook nog eens beschermd tegen de zon, koop dan zeker de Lingerie de Peau van Guerlain.

Enig minpuntje: de prijs. Ici Paris XL verkoopt het product aan € 44,95. Persoonlijk ben ik het soort van persoon dat liever geen make-up draagt dan een goedkoop product dat een slecht resultaat geeft. In mijn opinie is dit product zeker zijn prijs waard.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko lipstick nr 912 Crimson Red

NL: De lippenstift zit in een zwarte huls, de naam van het merk is in het wit erop geschreven.

My expenrience:

Ok I have to admit, the name of the lipstick "Crimson Red" is a bit bad chosen. The lipstick is by far crimson red. I think dark pink would be better suitable.

Now as for the experience, this lipstick didn't disappoint. The Kiko products are amazingly great in comparison to their price. The lipstick is very easy to apply and doesn't stain. I would advise you to put on two layers for the real pink effect. The lipstick stays on quite long but smudges a bit in the corners of your mouth.

NL: Ok, ik moet toegeven dat de naam "Crimson Red" een beetje slecht gekozen is. De lippenstift is alles behalve rood. Donker roze zou een betere omschrijving zijn.

Voor de rest stelde de lippenstift zeker niet teleur. De Kiko producten zijn allemaal stuk voor stuk geweldig in vergelijking met hun prijs. Deze lippenstift is makkelijk aan te brengen en laat geen vlekken achter. Ik raad je wel aan om 2 lagen aan te brengen om echt dat roze effect te zien. De lippenstift blijft redelijk lang zitten maar hoopt zich wel een beetje op in de mondhoeken.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Chanel le vernis nr. 613 Eastern Light

A while ago I bought the Eastern light nail polish from Chanel. This is a white nail polish and is being featured on numerous blogs. When this nail polish caught my eye, I just had to buy it. Below you can find my review.

NL: Een tijdje geleden kocht ik de "Eastern light" nagellak van Chanel. Dit is een witte nagellak en kom je tegen op talloze blogs. Toen ik de nagellak zag staan in de winkel, moest ik deze gewoon kopen. Hieronder kan je mijn review lezen.

What does this product promises to do?

"Classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies evenly without streaking.

All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free."


Package:

The bottle is very straight forward. It's the classic model from Chanel. A see-through bottle with a black cap and writing.

NL: Het flesje is strak en standaard. Het is het klassieke model dat we gewoon zijn van Chanel; een doorzichtig flesje met een zwarte dop en tekst.

My experience:

Overall I have always been pleased by Chanel nail polishes so I didn't expect to be disappointed by "Eastern Light". I started applying the polish and I immediately noticed that a thin layer is not enough. You have to pay attention to have enough nail polish on your brush and apply it on the nail at once to have a smooth layer.

If you do this, I have to admit that one layer is enough. So when I was ready with applying the top coat, I was quite pleased with the result. After about an hour I was admiring my white nails when I noticed small dots, see the picture below. I have used this nail polish several times now and this always happens. So overall I can't really say that I'm very pleased with the "Eastern Light" nail polish. Does anyone else experience this problem?

NL: Over het algemeen ben ik erg tevreden van de nagelproducten van Chanel dus ik dacht niet dat de "Eastern light" nagellak mij zou teleurstellen. Bij het aanbrengen, merkte ik meteen dat een dun laagje niet genoeg zou zijn. Je moet echt goed opletten dat je genoeg nagellak op het borsteltje hebt en deze meteen aanbrengt om een glad laagje te hebben.

Als je dit doet, is één laag wel genoeg. Daarna heb ik nog een doorzichtige toplaag aangebracht en was ik best tevreden met het resultaat. Na een uurtje was ik mijn nagels aan het bewonderen en zag ik tot mijn teleurstelling allemaal stipjes, zie foto hieronder. Ik heb deze nagellak ondertussen meerdere keren gebruikt en dit gebeurt steeds opnieuw. Dus eigenlijk kan ik niet echt zeggen dat ik tevreden ben van de "Eastern Light" nagellak. Heeft nog iemand dit probleem?

BEAUTY REVIEW: Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 lumières eye shadow

A while ago I told you about this awesome eye shadow pallet I discovered from Yves Saint Laurent, with some great pastel shades. It got stuck in my mind and eventually I ended up buying it in a rush. The thing with new eye shadow shades is that you really have to invest time to try other different combinations to see which one suits your appearance. Unfortunately time is something I don't have a lot off so you haven't seen a make-up look with it yet. Last Sunday I went to a local dance festival. Since I had the day off, I decided to start prepping earlier than usual and try out the Yves Saint Laurent pallet. So *Tatahhh*... here's my review.

NL: Een tijdje geleden vertelde ik jullie over dit geweldig oogschaduw palet dat ik ontdekt had  van Yves Saint Laurent, bestaande uit enkele geweldige pastel tinten. Ik krijg dit product niet meer uit mijn gedachten en kocht het uiteindelijk in een vlaag. Het probleem met nieuwe oogschaduw tinten is dat je echt wel tijd moet investeren in het uitzoeken van een combinatie die bij jou past. Jammer genoeg heb ik geen zeeën van tijd dus had ik voorlopig ook nog geen kans om dit palet te reviewen voor jullie. Afgelopen zondag ging ik naar een lokaal dance festival en had ik een dagje vrij. Dus ging ik vroeger aan de slag en probeerde ik het Yves Saint Laurent palet uit. Dus *Tatahhh* ... hier is mijn review.

Package:

The eye shadow comes in the very typical YSL golden package. Since I'm a sucker for anything gold, I absolutely adore it. Of course the brand's name is mentioned on it. The pallet is wrapped in a luxurious little, silk sac.

NL: De oogschaduw komt in een erg typisch YSL gouden doosje. Vermits ik echt van goud hou, vind ik het natuurlijk prachtig. De naam van het merk wordt natuurlijk ook vermeld. Het palet is verpakt in een luxueus, klein, zijden zakje.

My look:

As a base, I used the silver shade. I spread this completely over my eyelid. I added the pink shade on the inner side of my eyelid and the brown shade on the outer side of my eyelid. The reason why I mixed them is because the pink shade is quite heavy. Afterwards I mixed them both by using a small brush. I used the green pastel shade as eyeliner for my eyelid.

The eye shadow applies very easily and stays on quite long even though it was a very warm day. I honestly really like this look. What do you think about it?

I don't remember what the price was for this pallet, although I estimate it was about € 50,00. Unfortunately I can't find it on the Ici Paris XL site or the Yves Saint Laurent website so I guess it was limited edition. Maybe you can try your luck at the local make-up store.

NL: Als basis gebruikte ik de zilveren tint, deze verspreidde ik over mijn volledige ooglid. De roze tint bracht ik aan op  de binnenste zijde van mijn ooglid, de bruine tint op de buitenste zijde van mijn ooglid. Daarna gebruikte ik een klein borsteltje om beide te mengen vermits de roze tint redelijk zwaar is. De groene tint gebruikte ik als eyeliner.

De oogschaduw is erg makkelijk aan te brengen en blijft goed zitten ondanks het warme weer. Ik vind deze look echt geslaagd, wat vinden jullie ervan?

Ik herinner me de prijs niet meer, ik schat iets van een €50,00. Jammer genoeg vind ik deze specifieke oogschaduw ook niet meer op de Ici Paris XL website of the YSL webshop dus ik denk dat het een limited edition palet was. Misschien vind je het nog wel in een lokale make-up winkel.

BEAUTY REVIEW: Kiko Nail Lacquer nr 279 yellow

I'm not going to completely review this Kiko nail polish because I already did one for nr 275 black last week, you can read it here. The results and my feelings about the yellow nail polish are exactly the same. Below you can see some pictures of the result.

NL: Ik ga geen volledige review schrijven over deze Kiko nagellak omdat ik vorige week al eentje schreef over de nr 275 zwart, je kan dit hier nog eens opnieuw lezen. De resultaten en mijn bevindingen over de gele nagellak zijn exact hetzelfde. Hieronder kan je enkele foto's zien van het resultaat.
