Package:

The package is a golden box with the brand's name and other information printed in black. The bottle inside is see-through and again with black finish. Usually foundation bottles have a little pump and then you have to apply the foundation with either your hands or a brush. Due to the pump you always use a little bit too much product. This YSL foundation has an applicator which makes using the right amount of product so much easier.

NL: De verpakking is een gouden doos met de merknaam en verder productinformatie in het zwart erop gedrukt. Het flesje is doorzichtig en weer met een zwarte afwerking. Normaal werkt foundation met een klein pompje en dan moet je het product aanbrengen met je handen of een borstel. Door het pompje heb je vaak een beetje teveel product op je vinger. De YSL foundation heeft een speciaal soort applicatiesysteem dat het gemakkelijker maakt om de juiste dosis foundation aan te brengen. 

My experience:

At the moment I'm using another foundation and as usual the YSL Encre de Peau foundation is a product I got to try out because my mom bought it. So I used the foundation to cover my complete face by applying it with my fingers. I always feel like this works more precisely than an applicator. The foundation is quite liquid.

Several magazines have crowned this the it-foundation from the moment and I can totally see why. Never before I had this kind of glow and coverage which stays good for hours. All spots of redness are gone. The foundation is available in 21(!) different shades so it's basically impossible to not find one that suits you. The YSL foundation is absolutely stunning and I will definitely keep on using it in the future.

NL: Op dit moment gebruik ik een andere foundation en zoals gewoonlijk kon ik de YSL Encre De Peau uitproberen dankzij mijn mama. Dus ik gebruikte de foundation voor het bedekken van mijn volledige gezicht, zoals gewoonlijk gebruikte ik mijn vingers. Dit werkt veel preciezer dan een borsteltje. De foundation is ook redelijk vloeibaar. 

Verschillende magazines hebben dit tot de it-foundation bekroond en ik begrijp volledig waarom. Nooit eerder had ik zo een gloed en een dekking die goed bleef voor uren. Alle rode puntjes zijn weg. De foundation is beschikbaar in 21(!) tinten dus het is eigenlijk onmogelijk om geen tint te vinden die geschikt voor je is. De YSL foundation is echt prachtig en ik ga dit product zeker opnieuw gebruiken in de toekomst.

1) Dior Hydra Life Creme Protection SPF15

Dior Hydra Life is in my life for so many years now simply because it's the best day creamm.

2) Celluli Laser Size Code from Biotherm

Don't we all hate cellulites? I discovered this miracle worker.

3) Estee Lauder - Idealist pore minimazing skin 

If I hate anything more than cellulites, then that would probably be my pores. Therefor I often use the Estée Lauder Idealist.

4)  Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture lipstick nr 7 Le Fuchsia

The color of this lipstick is pretty amazing and I feel kind of special everytime I wear it.

5)  Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 lumières eye shadow

Another great Yves Saint Laurent product I purchased this year. The colors of this palette are not very conventional so I don't wear it that often. The quality of this eye shadow is great nontheless. 

6) Chanel Rouge Allure 99 Pirate lipstick

A girl never has enough red lipsticks in this dark red one from Chanel is just perfect.

7)  Kiko Perfect Base Corrector

No make-up look is complete without a good primer. I'm pretty hooked on this one from Kiko.

8) Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

Best perfume discovery from 2014.

9) Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess powder

I love a good tan unfortunately I need some help during these harsh winter timers. The Bronze Goddess powder from Estée Lauder is a top product.

10)  Diorific Golden Shock Top Coat - Limited edition Christmas

The perfect  toap coat to bring the festivities to your nails. 

BEAUTY REVIEW: Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

Do you remember a while ago when Instagram and other social media were taken over by Monsieur Black and his contest to win your "Dose of addiction" by becoming his muse. Well I was one of those lucky bastards to be chosen and to receive this incredible new fragrance. I took me a while to try out because I have been battling a cold but now you can finally read my opinion about it.

NL: Herinneren jullie nog hoe een tijdje geleden Instagram en andere social media werden overspoeld door Monsieur Black en zijn wedstrijd om je "Dose of Addiction" te bemachtigen door zijn muze te worden. Ik was één van de geluksvogels die verkozen werd en deze geweldige nieuwe geur in ontvangst mocht nemen. Het heeft een tijdje geduurd voordat ik Black Opium van Yves Saint Laurent kon uitproberen door een verkoudheid maar nu kunnen jullie hier eindelijk mijn mening lezen.

Normally I don't start off with the package when reviewing a product but in the case of this product you can't really overlook the magnificent perfume bottle and box. The ad for Black Opium was rock chic and the bottle reflects that perfectly. It's made of some shiny and stony kind of material with a pink see-through glass in the middle. The cap is very chic as well.

NL: Normaal begin ik tijdens een review nooit de verpakking maar in dit geval is de verpakking gewoon echt een eyecatcher en kan je niet naast het magnifieke flesje en doosje kijken. De publiciteitscampagne van Black Opium straalde rock chic uit en het flesje geeft dat ook perfect weer. De flacon is gemaakt uit een soort van glanzend en steenachtig materiaal met een roos doorschijn glaasje in het midden. De dop is ook erg chic.

Notes of coffee dominate this scent. But this scent is softend by pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla and cedar. This fragrance is very strong, which I love. If you love more delicate perfumes, skip this one. The scent is not comparable to the old Opium. This scent is much more sexy and rock & roll.

NL: Koffie is de overheersende noot in deze geur. Verder wordt deze verzacht door rode peper, oranjebloesem, Jasmine, vanille en ceder. De geur is erg sterk en hier hou ik wel van. Als je meer voor een verfijnd parfum bent, zou ik deze geur even overslaan. De geur is absoluut niet vergelijkbaar met de oude Opium. Deze geur is veel meer sexy en Rock & Roll.

You can order the Black Opium online or in stores at Ici Paris XL. The 30 ml bottle, which is the one I own, comes at € 50,30. This is maybe a bit pricy for its volume but then again the fragrance is amazing. Have you tried out this perfume already? What's your opinion?

Celebrating one year of Dressing in Labels

While today might be my 25th birthday, tomorrow I will be celebrating something else: the first anniversary of my blog Dressing in Labels. I remember I had the idea of starting the blog for a while but I let doubt and anxiety hold me back. I think the champagne I was sipping for my birthday, gave me the final push to put the blog online. And what a year it has been. Sometimes it was hard to stay inspired and post regularly but the fun events and meeting so many new people was the reward for the endless nights of writing. Today I'm going to show you my most read articles from the first year of Dressing in Labels. What kind of articles would you look to read in the future?

NL: Vandaag mag dan wel mijn 25e verjaardag zijn, morgen heb ik nog iets anders te vieren: de eerste verjaardag van mijn blog Dressing in Labels. Ik had al een tijdje het idee om een blog te starten maar liet me steeds tegen houden door twijfel en angst. Ik denk dat de champagne, die ik dronk op mijn verjaardag, me het laatste duwtje in de rug heeft gegeven om een blog te beginnen. En wat een jaar is het geweest. NL: Wie houdt er nu van grote poriën? Niemand en dit is duidelijk een probleem waren vele onder jullie last van hebben. Mijn review werd immens veel gelezen, maar als je nog even een opfrissertje nodig hebt, twijfel dan zeker niet om hier te klikken.

4) Event: Denvin SS 14 Fashion Show

Our neighbors for The Netherlands know how to throw a fashion show. This event was one of the best I ever went to. The clothes, the vibe, the people,... everything was utterly amazing! Read my report here.

Gossip Girl was without a doubt the Sex and the city of my generation. You were either team Blair or team Serena. NL: Gossip Girl was zonder twijfel het Sex and the City van mijn generatie. Je was ofwel team Blair ofwel team Serena. Tot op vandaag is het personage van Blair Waldorf een echt icoon en als één iemand de hoofdband en de cape modieus heeft gemaakt, dan is zij het wel. 1) Beauty review: Celluli Lazer Size Code Biotherm

Unfortunately we can all get cellulitis and most people actually are bothered by it. Usually it's genetic specific but too much or not enough sports can cause cellulitis as well among other things. Luckily I found this product by Biotherm which notably nhances the problem. Read the full review here.

NL: Jammer genoeg kunnen we allemaal cellulitis krijgen en zo goed als iedereen heeft er wel wat last van. Meestal is het genetisch bepaald maar bijvoorbeeld te veel of te weinig sport kan ook één van de oorzaken zijn. Gelukkig vond ik dit product van Biotherm, het verbetert het probleem zichtbaar. BEAUTY REVIEW: Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 lumières eye shadow

A while ago I told you about this awesome eye shadow pallet I discovered from Yves Saint Laurent, with some great pastel shades. It got stuck in my mind and eventually I ended up buying it in a rush. The thing with new eye shadow shades is that you really have to invest time to try other different combinations to see which one suits your appearance. Unfortunately time is something I don't have a lot off so you haven't seen a make-up look with it yet. Last Sunday I went to a local dance festival. Since I had the day off, I decided to start prepping earlier than usual and try out the Yves Saint Laurent pallet. So *Tatahhh*... here's my review.

NL: Een tijdje geleden vertelde ik jullie over dit geweldig oogschaduw palet dat ik ontdekt had  van Yves Saint Laurent, bestaande uit enkele geweldige pastel tinten. Ik krijg dit product niet meer uit mijn gedachten en kocht het uiteindelijk in een vlaag. Het probleem met nieuwe oogschaduw tinten is dat je echt wel tijd moet investeren in het uitzoeken van een combinatie die bij jou past. Jammer genoeg heb ik geen zeeën van tijd dus had ik voorlopig ook nog geen kans om dit palet te reviewen voor jullie. Afgelopen zondag ging ik naar een lokaal dance festival en had ik een dagje vrij. Dus ging ik vroeger aan de slag en probeerde ik het Yves Saint Laurent palet uit. Dus *Tatahhh* ... hier is mijn review.

Package:

The eye shadow comes in the very typical YSL golden package. Since I'm a sucker for anything gold, I absolutely adore it. Of course the brand's name is mentioned on it. The pallet is wrapped in a luxurious little, silk sac.

NL: De oogschaduw komt in een erg typisch YSL gouden doosje. Vermits ik echt van goud hou, vind ik het natuurlijk prachtig. De naam van het merk wordt natuurlijk ook vermeld. Het palet is verpakt in een luxueus, klein, zijden zakje.

My look:

As a base, I used the silver shade. I spread this completely over my eyelid. I added the pink shade on the inner side of my eyelid and the brown shade on the outer side of my eyelid. The reason why I mixed them is because the pink shade is quite heavy. Afterwards I mixed them both by using a small brush. I used the green pastel shade as eyeliner for my eyelid.

The eye shadow applies very easily and stays on quite long even though it was a very warm day. I honestly really like this look. What do you think about it?

I don't remember what the price was for this pallet, although I estimate it was about € 50,00. Unfortunately I can't find it on the Ici Paris XL site or the Yves Saint Laurent website so I guess it was limited edition. Maybe you can try your luck at the local make-up store.

NL: Als basis gebruikte ik de zilveren tint, deze verspreidde ik over mijn volledige ooglid. De roze tint bracht ik aan op  de binnenste zijde van mijn ooglid, de bruine tint op de buitenste zijde van mijn ooglid. Daarna gebruikte ik een klein borsteltje om beide te mengen vermits de roze tint redelijk zwaar is. De groene tint gebruikte ik als eyeliner.

De oogschaduw is erg makkelijk aan te brengen en blijft goed zitten ondanks het warme weer. Ik vind deze look echt geslaagd, wat vinden jullie ervan?

Ik herinner me de prijs niet meer, ik schat iets van een €50,00. Jammer genoeg vind ik deze specifieke oogschaduw ook niet meer op de Ici Paris XL website of the YSL webshop dus ik denk dat het een limited edition palet was. Misschien vind je het nog wel in een lokale make-up winkel.

My shoplog today is all about make-up. I still had some Ici Paris XL vouchers laying at home that were about to expire. Of course a beauty addict like yours truly couldn't let that happen. The things I bought are a combination of basic items that I always use and some new items that I wanted to try. Let me know which is your favourite item! NL: De shoplog van vandaag is volledig gewijd aan make-up. Ik had nog enkele bonnen thuis liggen van Ici Paris XL die op het punt stonden van te vervallen. Een beautyverslaafde, zoals mezelf, kon dit natuurlijk niet laten gebeuren. De producten, die ik kocht, zijn een mix van basis items en enkele nieuwe dingen die ik graag eens wou uitproberen. Estée Lauder Advanced night Repair is a product I have been using for quite some years now on a daily basis. And I honestly can't see it disappearing amongst my favorites very soon. This product keeps on winning award after award and it really is that awesome! My skin is super soft after using it.

NL: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair is een product dat ik al enkele jaren dagelijks gebruik. En eerlijk gezegd zie ik het ook niet snel van mijn lijstje met favoriete beautyproducten verdwijnen. Dit product blijft de ene award na de andere winnen en terecht! Mijn huid is echt super zicht na het gebruikt van de Advanced Night repair. 

The second product I bought is another daily use product: YSL's Touche Eclat. Normally I use color 2 but because it's summer and my skin is getting slightly tanned I opted for the Peche Lumiere this time. Although the color looks quite dark, it blends perfectly with my skin.

NL: Het tweede product dat ik kocht, is weer een product dat ik dagelijks gebruik; de YSL Touche Eclat. Normaal gebruik ik tint 2 maar omdat het zomer is en ik toch lichtjes gebruind ben, verkies ik momenteel de Peche Lumiere. De kleur ziet er zo vrij donker uit, maar mixt perfect met mijn huid.

Recently I saw the Eastern Light nail polish from Chanel making its way onto a lot of fashion and beauty blogs. White nail polish is a good and sophisticated replacement for red during the summer. I totally love it!

NL: De laatste tijd merk ik op dat veel beauty en modeblogger de Eastern Light nagellak van Chanel gebruiken. Witte nagellak is een goede en gesofisticeerde vervanger voor rood tijdens de zomer. Ik ben helemaal verkocht!

Lately I really try out and use different shades of lipstick. I didn't have a dark red shade amongst my collection yet, shame on me. I've always been very pleased about Chanel's range of lipsticks so I was instantly sold when I tried nr 99 Pirate on from the Rouge Allure range.

NL: De laatste tijd probeer en gebruik ik steeds meer verschillende kleuren van lippenstift uit. Ik had nog geen donkere rode tint bij mijn collectie, een echte schande. Ik ben altijd erg tevreden geweest van de Chanel lippenstiften en was dan ook meteen verkocht toen ik nr 99 Pirate van het Rouge Allure gamma uitprobeerde.

As for eye shadows I'm usually a save person and use my limited edition eye palette from Dior from a view years ago but when I saw this palette I just couldn't resist the urge. This is another limited edition palette from YSL ombres 5 lumieres.  

NL: Op het gebied van oogschaduwen, ben ik meestal redelijk save en gebruik ik standaard mijn limited edition palet van Dior. Maar toen ik dit palet van YSL ombres 5 lumieres zag, kon ik onmogelijk weerstaan.

The package is very chic and in my favorite color gold. The lipstick is quadratic. At the point where the lipstick closes, the logo from Yves Saint Laurent comes together on the bullet.

My own experience:

The formula is amazingly smooth and creamy. The lipstick is quite long lasting although I have to point out that the brightness from the color fates after about two hours. After having searched for the perfect fuchsia lipstick for so long, I was excited to find the perfect color in the product range from Yves Saint Laurent. Often lipsticks don't exactly match the color on the bullet but this one was completely satisfying. I'm super pleased about the color. 

The finish is satiny mat and as bonus point, the Rouge Pur Couture has 15 SPF. 

You can buy this lipstick in a lot of different shades on the Ici Paris XL website. The price tag is € 30,15 which is quite expensive but reasonable for its great quality.

Yves Saint Laurent: The movie

Like any other fashion addict, I'm always excited when a fashion themed movie is being realized in the cinema. On 10th April it's that time again. One of the most iconic designers ever, Yves Saint Laurent, gets his life turned in a biopic. And let's be honest, there's a story there. Yves Saint Laurent was an innovative designer. He dressed women in masculine suits and mixed couture with plastic accessories. His private life was very tumultuous as well; drugs, alcohol and parties were no rarity to YSL.

The movie is shot by Jalil Lespert and is about the early years of YSL's life. Apparently Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent's life partner, was moved to tears by this picture. The movie starts in French Algeria, the birth country from YSL. We see the young version from Yves Saint Laurent drawing in his childhood room. In the next scenes we see YSL working for Christian Dior and replacing the latter after his sudden dead.

During a society party Saint Laurent meets the man of his life: Pierre Bergé, who would become his life partner until YSL's death in 2008. This makes from this movie a love story as well. Bergé helps Yves Saint Laurent with the creation of his own fashion house but needs to pick him up as well after yet another exhausting fashion season.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. It's always interesting to get a view behind the scenes and find out who's the face behind a fashion house. Most designers are quite eccentric so they often a very interesting life stories as well. Underneath you can find some pictures and the trailer. Will you go to the cinema to watch this movie?
