FASHION: Farfetch - Perfect party look for the holiday season

ENG: Holiday season is around the corner and that means my search for the perfect party look has started. Once the clock strikes midnight on 31st December I want to be the most fashionable chick on the dance floor. This year I teamed up with Farfetch to put together my favourite outfit. 

I always connect to holiday season to colours such as red, gold and black. These colours are chic and classy in my opinion. I also like to stand out from the crowd; so while other girls opt for a dress, I would rather go for a fancy top and some gorgeous boots. 

Farfetch is of course the online shopping destination for every fashionista with items being offered by + 300 boutiques from all over the world. Farfetch only offers the best of the best. EVENT: Balmain x H&M vip presale

NL: De afgelopen week ben ik bestookt geweest met vragen over de Balmain x H&M vip presale dus besloot ik om er een blogpost over te schrijven. Op 5 november kwam eindelijk de langverwachte collectie in de winkels voor het grote publiek. Belgische bloggers en beroemdheden waren enkel dagen eerder al uitgenodigd op een VIP presale. 

We moesten allemaal samen komen op een parking in Brussel. Van daaruit bracht een bus ons naar een geheime locatie, dit zorgde voor nog wat extra spanning bij iedereen. Gelukkig was ik bij de eerste groep en was er op dat moment nog keuze genoeg in de pop-up shop. De locatie was een oud gebouw dat industrieel was ingekleed. Van het moment dat je binnen kwam, ademde alles zwart en goud. De paspoppen toonden je bij het binnen komen al het moois dat lag te wachten. 

De voorverkoop zelf was echt super druk en iedereen graaiden naar zijn/haar favoriete stukken. Helaas vielen veel kledingstukken vrij klein van maat. Daardoor ging ik voor de bontjas en de clutch. Deze hebben jullie natuurlijk gisteren al kunnen bewonderen in een deze outfit post. Daarna was er op de bovenverdieping een afterparty waar we verwend werden als echte V.I.P.'s. De drankjes vloeiden rijkelijk en de hotdogs werden als zoete broodjes verdeeld. Bedankt H&M voor deze top avond!

ENG: The past week I got a lot of questions about the Balmain x H&M vip presale so I decided to write a blogpost about it. On 5th November the long awaited collection was finally available in stores for the general crowd. Belgian bloggers and celebrities were invited to a V.I.P. presale a few days earlier.

Everybody was gathered on a parking place somewhere in Brussels. A bus took us to a hidden location, which added to the excitement. Luckily I arrived with the first group which assured that I still had plenty of choice in the pop-up store. The location was an old building with industrial design. The moment you entered, everything breathed black and gold. The mannequins immediately showed us the gorgeous clothes that were awaiting us.

The presale was really busy and everybody tried to grab their favourite pieces. Unfortunately the clothes were quite small. Because of that I opted for the fur coat and clutch. Check them in yesterday's outfit post. Afterwards we all joined the afterparty where we got spoiled as real V.I.P.'s. Drinks got served generously and the hotdogs were super delicious. Thanks H&M for this amazing evening. 

Shoplog #35

NL: Deze week heb ik het geld weer goed laten rollen ;-) Ten eerste ging ik natuurlijk naar de langverwachte VIP voorverkoop van de Balmain x H&M collectie. Met een ellenlang wensenlijstje trok ik naar Brussel. Helaas vielen de kleren een beetje aan de kleine kant. Daarom opteerde ik voor de bontjas met groene afwerking en een blingbling clutch. Aanvankelijk was ik niet van plan om voor de clutch te gaan maar in het echt was de afwerking zo mooi en kon ik niet weerstaan.

Verder was ik al een heel tijd op zoek naar zwarte Stan Smith's maar nergens vond ik een leuk en vooral vrouwelijk model in maat 42. Op een dag kwam mijn mama met een leuk paar thuis en na lang zoeken vond ik op Zalando hetzelfde paar in mijn maat. Dank aan mama voor de inspiratie! Natuurlijk bleef ik nog een beetje op de Zalando website hangen en stuitte ik ook nog op deze korte laarzen. Me happy!

Ten slotte was ik toevallig bij JBC, een winkel die ik normaal passeer tijdens mijn shoptochten. Gelukkig deze keer niet. Eindelijk kan ik nu ook meedoen aan de fringe trend dankzij de leren rokje. 

ENG: This week I spent my money big time ;-) Firstly I went to the long awaited VIP presale of the Balmain x H&M collection. With a super long wishlist I drove to Brussels. Unfortunately the clothes were on the small side. Therefore I opted for the fur coat  and a shiny clutch. At first I wasn't planning on buying the clutch but the details are so beautiful and I couldn't resist.

I had been looking for Stan Smith's for quite a while now but I couldn't find a nice and female model in size 42. One day my mother came home with a nice pair and after a long search I found the same pair in my size on the Zalando website. Thank you mom for the inspiration! Of course I surfed some more on the Zalando website and also discovered these short boots. Me happy!

Last but not least I was at JBC, a store which I normally don't enter during my shopping adventures. Fortunately I decided otherwise this time. Finally I can join in on the fringe trend thanks to this leather skirt. 

FASHION: Balmain x H&M

NL: Ik heb lang getwijfeld om een blogpost over de Balmain x H&M collectie te schrijven, omdat je deze gewoon al overal tegenkomt. Maar de #HMBALMAINATION koorts stijgt naar ongekende hoogtes en ik kan niet langer aan de verleiding weerstaan ;-) Op 5 november ligt de langverwachte collectie eindelijk in de winkels en eerder deze week werd  de volledige collectie voorgesteld in New York. 

Tijd dus om die wenslijstjes beginnen op te stellen, al is dit haast een onmogelijke taak. De jurken zijn gebaseerd op authentieke Balmain designs en zijn helemaal mijn stijl. De blouses zijn afgewerkt met de prachtigste details en laten we ook de mooie accessoires niet vergeten. Ook het rijke kleurenpalette van deze collectie heeft mijn hart veroverd. Gelukkig mag ik enkele dagen eerder de collectie al gaan bekijken en kopen in de H&M showroom. Volg mij dus zeker op social media @karenliesens voor een sneak peek. 

ENG: I doubted for quite some time to write a blogpost about the Balmain x H&M collection because everybody is already doing it. But the #HMBALMAINATION fever is rising to unknown temperatures and I can't resist any longer ;-) On 5th November the long awaited collection will finally be available in stores and earlier this week it was already presented in New York. 

That means it's time to start making those wishlists, although that's nearly impossible. The dresses are inspired by authentic Balmain designs and are really my style. The blouses are completed with the most gorgeous details and let's not forget about those pretty accessories. The rich colour palette of this collection appeals to me as well. TREND: How to wear your spring coat?

The chancing of seasons acquires another clothing style and spring is probably the hardest season to dress in my opinion. In the morning it's often still freezing or close to freezing so you feel like putting on long pants, a blouse and a warm coat. But along the day the temperatures start rising and the outfit that seemed perfect a couple of hours earlier, is now annoying you. 

Luckily a lot of street style "people" have the right solution; don't put your coat on but put it on your shoulders. This gives a very easy yet very chic touch to your look. I really like this trend and I'm definitely going to try to fit it into one of my next oufit shoots. This trend is also perfect to spice up your work outfit for an after work event. Balmain Fall/Winter 2015

Balmain presented as usual a very powerful collection. Balmain is one of my favourite brands as far as I can remember but I must admit this season's collection is not my favourite. Nonetheless Balmain remains Balmain. The colours are a combination of camouflage, animal print and black. Most looks excited out of leather and metals. The clothes are very sexy without showing too much.
