OUTFIT: Beautiful in white

White; the colour of hope, new beginnings and purity. And in this outfit post it's the colour of my coat as well. These pictures were taken in Hasselt after the talk I attended by Paul Smith. Unfortunately my usual photographer, aka my mum wasn't available. Sorry for the little number of pictures and not so superb quality. I promise better material is on its way *pinky swear *

OUTFIT: Nike sneakers

Sneakers are all the rage lately and Nike is  definitely a very popular brand among the fashion crowd. Although I wasn't really a fan of Nike sneakers as a fashion statement in the beginning, it eventually grew on me as well. So when I spotted some gorgeous pink/yellow sneakers on sale during my holiday in Tuscany, I knew the time had come to go totally overboard. Do you like my sneakers? Are you hooked on this trend as well?

NL: Sneakers zijn erg populair de laatste tijd en Nike is een erg geliefd merk bij het modepubliek. Ook al was ik aanvankelijk niet echt fan van Nike sneakers als modestatement, de trend begon mij ook langzaam maar zeker in te palmen. Dus toen ik een geweldig paar roze/gele sneakers aan een soldenprijsje spotte tijdens mijn vakantie in Toscane, wist ik dat het tijd was om toe te geven. Wat vind je van mijn sneakers? Ben je ook verslaafd aan deze trend?

INSPIRATION: Fashion trends Fall/Winter 14-15

I know it might seem a bit early to preview the trends for this fall and winter. But with the sales coming to a close and the new collections arriving in stores, a real fashionista can better brace herself and start prepping. Below you can find my 10 favorite winter trends.

NL: Ik weet dat het misschien nog wat vroeg lijkt om nu al vooruit te blikken naar de trends voor komende winters. Maar de solden lopen op zijn einde en nieuwe collecties beginnen de winkels binnen te stromen. Een echte fashionista kan zich dus maar beter goed voorbereiden. Hieronder zie je alvast mijn 10 favoriete trends voor deze winter.

1. Memphis

 The influence of the Memphis group (eighties) will be very visible in our accessories this winter. We will wear a mix of different designs and materials.

NL: De invloeden van de Memphis groep zullen duidelijk zichtbaar zijn in onze accessoires. Een mix van diverse ontwerpen en materialen.

2. Statement jewelry

This trend, created by the designer of Celine among others, is all about wearing multiple big rings on one hand or wearing just one but very noticeable earring.

NL: Deze trend, naar voren gebracht door o.a. de ontwerper van Céline, gaat erom dat je bv. meerdere grote ringen combineert op één hand of net maar één oorbel draagt maar dan natuurlijk wel een echte joekel.

3. Animal prints

If you have invested in animal prints the past seasons, this is definitely not lost. This season we will mix animal prints with a colored graphic detail.

NL: Als je de afgelopen seizoenen geïnvesteerd hebt in dierenprint, is dit zeker niet verloren. Dit seizoen zullen we diverse prints mixen met gekleurde, grafische details.

4. Western

Chanel brought this trend to life more than ever. I guess most fashionista's will stick to western accessories only.

NL: Chanel bracht de western trend tot leven, al denk ik wel dat de gemiddelde fashionista voor kleine details zal gaan en niet een complete cowboy outfit.

5. Fake Fur

Dear readers, please stop killing animals just so you can wear a nice piece of clothing. Fake fur is hotter than ever!!!

NL: Liefste lezers, stop aub met het doden van dieren voor het maken van mooie kledingstukken. Nep bond is nu hot!

6. Sneakers

Who would have thought that the fashion crowd would ever turn to sneakers? I'm huge fan of this trend, definitely as work outfit. I mean seriously nobody wants to go to work with painful feed all week long. Converse has been a main stream brand for years, but ever since Chanel brought the trend on to the catwalk many fashion bloggers have been spotted wearing sneakers.

NL: Wie had ooit gedacht dat het modepubliek sneakers zou dragen? Ik ben echt een grote fan van deze trend en zeker om te gaan werken. Serieus, wie wilt nu pijnlijke voeten tijdens de week? Converse is al jaren een label dat op de voorgrond van de modewereld meedraait. Maar sinds Chanel de sneaker introduceerde op de catwalk worden steeds meer modebloggers gespot met echt sportieve sneakers.

7. Plissé

I'm still looking for the perfect plissé (sorry I don't know the English word) skirt but it seems like I can try my luck another season. The plissé trend can easily be combined with the metallic trend.

NL: Ik ben nog steeds op zoek naar het perfecte rokje met plooien maar ik kan het maar niet vinden. Gelukkig krijg ik nog een extra seizoen de kans om te zoeken. Deze trend wordt dit seizoen ook veelal gecombineerd met de metallic trend.

8. Leather

This one never goes out of style. 

NL: Leer gaat nooit uit de mode.

9 Fairytale

Life is a fairytale so why not show it with your outfit? Since I'm a huge Disney fan, I definitely will go looking for a suitable item in my closet. 

NL: Het leven is een sprookje dus waarom zou je dit niet tonen in je outfit? Ikzelf ben een grote Disney fan en zal dus zeker naar het geschikte item voor mijn garderobe op zoeken gaan.

10. Pastels

Pastels is not just a summer thing, it's all year round. So once you start to do the winter clean of your wardrobe make sure you don't put those pastel items too far away. 

NL: Pastel tinten zijn niet enkel een zomer ding, maar worden nu het hele jaar door gedragen. Dus al je eens begint met de "winterschoonmaak" van je garderobe, zorg er dan zeker voor dat je jouw pastelitems niet te ver weg steekt.

This is not just any shoplog. In this article I will show you all the stuff I bought during my holiday in Tuscany. What's your favorite item?

Nederlands: Dit is niet zomaar een shoplog. In dit artikel zal ik alle dingen tonen die ik gekocht heb tijdens mijn vakantie in Toscane. Wat is je favoriete item?

You might already have seen these two items pass by on my Instagram account: a pink bikini from Goldenpoint and the Nike Air zoom Pegasus 31 sneakers.

NL: Deze twee items zag je misschien al eens voorbij komen op mijn Instagram account: een roze bikini van Goldenpoint  en de Nike Air Zoom Pagus 31 sneakers.

My flip flops got damaged during my holiday so I instantly needed new ones, Havaianas seems like a very popular brand in Italy.

NL: Mijn flip flops geraakte beschadigd tijdens mijn vakantie dus ik had er onmiddellijk nieuwe nodig. Havaianas is precies een erg populair merk in Italië.

NL: Er zijn echt geen grenzen aan mijn Louis Vuitton verslaving. De nieuwste toevoeging aan mijn collectie is de Pochette Eva.

When I entered the Patrizia Pepe store I immediately fell in love with this skirt. I have been looking for a model like this for so long and the pattern and colors are amazing.

NL: Toen ik de Patrizia Pepe winkel binnen kwam, werd ik onmiddellijk verliefd op dit rokje. Ik was al zolang aan het zoeken naar een gelijkaardig model, het patroon en de kleuren zijn ook geweldig.

The two bags above are some treasures my mom and I found on the weekly market in Forte Di Marmi. They came € 20,00 / piece and resemble the Gucci bamboo bag a lot.

NL: De bovenstaande tassen zijn pareltjes die mijn mama en ik vonden op  de wekelijkse markt in Forte di Marmi. Ze kosten € 20,00 / stuk tonen veel gelijkenissen met de Gucci bamboo tas.

I'm a huge fan of both big statement jewelry but on the other hand I also love classic and timeless pieces. This Michael Kors Buckle Bangle is exactly that. 

NL: Ik ben een grote fan van zowel statement juwelen maar aan de andere kant ook van klassieke en tijdloze stukken. Deze Michael Kors Buckle Bangle is dat helemaal.

OUTFIT: Spring Pastels and ripped jeans

Today I can finally show you a totally new outfit which I'm super excited about. I have been complaining about not finding pastel items for my wardrobe. Also I wanted to find a pair of ripped jeans, preferably white. Luckily I found both the past weekend. I combined the white jeans with a white/golden shirt from my mother.
What can I tell you about my coat except that it's one of my favorite pieces EVER. I've only purchased this coat about two days ago and I already have gotten so many compliments. The rest of the outfit I tried to stay in the pastel color palette with my flower crown and earrings.
I also want to tell you about the location of the shoot. The pictures are taken at the bridge in Vroenhoven. This is an important historical landmark. It was the first piece of Flanders that was taken by the Germans during World War 2. Recently this bridge got a facelift and now there's a museum with everything you have to know about the War. Although my village is quite small, I still think we have so many amazing sightings.

NL: Vandaag kan ik jullie eindelijk nog eens een nieuwe outfit tonen en ik vind hem helemaal super! De laatste tijd was ik een beetje aan het klagen dat ik geen leuke pastel items vond. Daarnaast stond ook een paar gescheurde jeans, liefst wit, op mijn verlanglijstje. Wonder boven wonder vond ik beide tijdens het shoppen dit weekend. Ik heb er voor gekozen om mijn witte jeans te combineren met een wit/gouden shirtje van mijn mama.
En wat kan ik zeggen over mijn jas? Deze jas is echt één van de BESTE items die ik ooit gekocht heb. Ik heb de jas pas 2 dagen en heb al zoveel complimentjes gekregen. Voor de rest van mijn outfit probeerde ik binnen het kleurenpalet van de pasteltinten te blijven met onder andere mijn bloemenkroon en oorbellen.
Graag wil ik jullie ook nog iets vertellen over de locatie van de shoot. De foto's zijn genomen aan de brug in Vroenhoven. Dit is een belangrijk historische bezienswaardigheid. Het was het eerste deel van Vlaanderen dat tijdens Wereldoorlog twee werd ingenomen door Duitsland. Recent werd deze brug helemaal gerenoveerd en nu is er onder andere een museum over deze Wereldoorlog. Ook al ben ik maar van een kleine gemeente, toch bezitten wij vele prachtige uitzichten.
