OUTFIT: Spring Pastels and ripped jeans

Today I can finally show you a totally new outfit which I'm super excited about. I have been complaining about not finding pastel items for my wardrobe. Also I wanted to find a pair of ripped jeans, preferably white. Luckily I found both the past weekend. I combined the white jeans with a white/golden shirt from my mother.
What can I tell you about my coat except that it's one of my favorite pieces EVER. I've only purchased this coat about two days ago and I already have gotten so many compliments. The rest of the outfit I tried to stay in the pastel color palette with my flower crown and earrings.
I also want to tell you about the location of the shoot. The pictures are taken at the bridge in Vroenhoven. This is an important historical landmark. It was the first piece of Flanders that was taken by the Germans during World War 2. Recently this bridge got a facelift and now there's a museum with everything you have to know about the War. Although my village is quite small, I still think we have so many amazing sightings.

Shoplog #7

Lately I have been saving up some money for a decent camera and my holiday to Tuscany next month. My latest shopping trip feels like ages ago. The past couple of weeks I had some really stressful times at work and Thursday I decided it was about time to spoil myself a bit. Every Thursday evening the shops stay open late at Maastricht and sales have already started in The Netherlands. Look below to see what I bought.

EVENT: Smets presents Fashion exhibition "Closer" by Emilie Higle

Wednesday I was invited to an event in of my favorite stores in Belgium: Smets. This concept store, managed by the Smets family, sells brands such as Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Kenzo and Stella McCartney. To give you the perfect shopping experience, you can also look for some design interior pieces, have a cocktail at the bar or have a bite at the Bowlery restaurant.

Although my budget doesn't really allow me the be the "big spender" at Smets, I still enjoy visiting the place. It's like a girl's heaven on earth. The displays are decorated so creatively, it's almost out of this world. Yet the store is very spacious and clean.

During this event the fashion crowd was gathered for two reasons. Firstly Carine Smets and Axelle Red organized a cocktail in favor of the Association of "Toutes à l'école". This cause provides education to girls in Cambodia.

During this event Emilie Higle from My Little Fashion Diary presented her Fashion exhibition "Closer - the Power of Blogging in the Fashion Industry ". Emilie is a fashion photographer and blogger who, through her pictures, wants to show the influence the bloggers have on the fashion world. Her pictures are on auction at Smets and part of the proceeds will go to "Toutes à l'école".

NL: Tijdens dit evenement stelde Emilie Higle van My Little Fashion Diary haar mode tentoonstelling "Closer - the Power of Blogging on the Fashion Industry" voor.

The reason why I really wanted to attend the event, was to meet Emilie. I totally adore her blog and I have been following her for quite a while now. It's probably needless to point out that her pictures are amazing. Emilie is a close friend from Pascaline Smets, so she is first hand on all the newest items from the Smets stores. This creates some amazing outfits. I had a short talk with Emilie and complimented her on her amazing dress and she asked me if I liked the location.

DIY: How to make Guacamole?

If you're wondering why I have been quiet lately it's because I had a super busy weekend. I still live at home and never cook dinner. So inviting a couple of friends at home and serve a three course dinner was quite challenging. I started preparing Thursday evening and continued Friday.

Although I barely have any cooking experience I must say that the dinner was quite succesful. OK, I admit that some courses didn't go as planned but still I'm very pleased. To start off the evening I served some nacho's with homemade Guacamole. This is one of my favourite dip sauce. Here's how I made it:

Ingredients:

- 2 avocados
- 2 onions
- 2 Spanish peppers
- 6 spoons of cut corianders leaves
- 4 spoons of olive oil
- 6 spoons of lemon juice
- 2 tomatos

Peel and cut the avocados and onions. Erase the seeds from the Spanish peppers. Mix all these ingredients with lemon juice and olive oil in the mixer.

Add salt, pepper and the cut coriander leaves to the mix and leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Tip: I usually serve the guacamole with nachos.

INSPIRATION: Denim Outfits

A trend that is really hot this season is without a doubt the denim trend. You can wear just one piece of denim but if you're a real fashionista, denim on denim doesn't frighten you either. Well I have to admit that I'm kind of "frightened" by this trend. Somehow I never find the right piece for me. I really have to find a denim vest; it's the it-piece from this season.

Other items I really need in my closet are some new pairs of jeans. I have a hard time finding the right one for me. On my wish list are: a skinny blue jeans, a washed grey jeans and a white cut jeans. Here are some street style pics, if you still need some inspiration like me.

OUTFIT: Changes

The title from this outfit post doesn't really refer to my outfit but to some changes I have been planning for my blog. For example: I'm thinking about blogging in both English and Dutch. Dutch is my mother tongue and most of my readers are from Belgium and the Netherlands. What is your opinion about it? Would your prefer to read my articles in Dutch? Do you think it will help me and attrack more readers?

So now on to the real reason from this post, another outfit shoot I did with  Anil Bayrak Photography. I really love this outfit, unfortunately I only have two pictures to show you. Bright blue is really one of my favourite colors each spring. The earrings are already quite old but I still use them a lot. A while ago I wrote an inspirational post on different ways to wear a scarf therefore I decided to wear my Hermès scarf as a headband.

Instalab #17

Today I'm going to provide you with some updates on my private life. You might have noticed that I'm terribly quiet the last couple of days on my social media. There's a reason: unfortunately my phone died this week. May you rest in peace. The upside is that I finally have a good excuse to buy an IPhone. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up my new baby. I have been without mobile phone for 2 days now. On one side it's very annoying but on the other hand it's also liberating to be not reachable for a while.

I have also been stuck at home for a week with the flu. At first I was over the moon to have an extra week off from work and thought I could use this extra spare time to work on the blog. But I underestimated the flu big time. I was so tired that I exactly worked less on the blog.

Last but not least I'm really counting down to my holiday in Tuscany in a month's time. It's so close that I can't believe that I'm going. And I might be going on a second holiday in August although the plans aren't really definitive yet. My and 3 friends want to go on a sunny and lazy holiday, probably to Bodrum. I have been to Bodrum two years ago, staying at the Hotel Isil Club Milta. This place is really heaven on earth. We found a good promotion on the internet for this hotel. Somehow I just have to scrap the money together :) I have often been to Turkey (Belek, Kusadasi and Bodrum) and Bodrum is by far the most beautiful destination in my opinion. The city center is really authentic and really pretty in comparison to other Turkish cities.

Would you like me to write some personal posts more often? Anyway here are some of my latest Instagram pictures.

I received some lovely gifts through a give away from

On a lazy afternoon I had this lovely Italian burger at Shoko. It was a hamburger between a focaccio bread and french fries.

I'm not a person to sit around all the time so being ill was a really hard time for me. My best friend and I made a quick visit to Primark and had this delicious dessert at Häagen-Dazs.

I finally had the time to check out Sofie Valkiers' Little Black Book she presented during her Ladies night.

A while ago I had the honor to work together with Zalando and as a reward I got these amazing shoes.

I had the honor to attend the I love Fashion Bloggers Q&A. After a long train ride these little bites were very welcome.

The NHow hotel in Rotterdam was the location for this event. Don't you just love this view?

I was so glad to meet my Dutch blogging frieds Esmeralda and Kevin again, I met them at a previous event.

Me joined by some blogging legends: Negin Mirsalehi, Yara Michels and Linda Toll.

An upclose from the outfit that I wore to the event.

The occasional selfie.
